On the first night of Freshman Orientation, Sarah's roommate invited over a few friends who all met on the school's new student Facebook page to hangout. After falling hard for Sarah (okay not really. But he did fall hard off of a desk after very chivalrously trying to fix their TV), Sarah came to the rescue with the emergency icepack her mom lovingly forced her to bring to college "just in case." That first meeting led to a great friendship filled with Red Sox and Yankee games, "second breakfasts" with friends, and study tables at the library with more talking than studying. By the end of September we were officially dating, and have not looked back since.
Chris coordinated with some of Sarah's closest friends to ensure that his proposal was a surprise. Sarah was convinced she was visiting the colleges on a "girls trip" with some friends she had not seen since her undergraduate graduation a year earlier. After driving the 5 hours in the car with Alexandra Deku doing her best to act casual, Sarah arrived on campus and went to "meet her friends" for brunch on the docks by the lake. Instead, Sarah was surprised by Chris, who had driven up earlier in the day, down on one knee.
Since moving to Boston's North Shore, we have continued to enjoy our newest adventures. Together we have made our perfect first apartment our home, while jumping into our new careers - Chris's dedication at MP HR has led to well-deserved promotions and recognition, while Sarah is enjoying her teaching role and making connections with her students. We have been loving our home together, spent filling our weekends (and weekdays) with friends, family, and nights together. Everything from football games (go birds/cowboys but not if you ask Chris) to movie nights, 5Ks, coffee dates, and exploring the nearby towns and beaches. Together we are looking forward not only to the wedding, but also our marriage, and all the new adventures that continue to lie ahead.
