Basically all airlines fly to FLL so that's easy.
We don't recommend renting a car because everything you need is a walk or short ride away (mall? yes. grocery? yes. the beach? yes. bars? obviously!) There are free shuttles on the beach to take you where you need to go. 
From the airport you can take Lyft or Uber (we go with Lyft) and it's about a 15 min drive.
