In 2016, we both began our separate journeys at George Fox University. We were in the same dormitory, but did not take the chance that year to get to know each other very well. Fast forward to the Summer of 2019, just before our senior year, Jake sent me a message on Instagram asking how I was doing. That one random message turned into days of conversation before we finally had our first date where we talked about Jake's recent trip to Norway (one of my dream vacations), and slow danced in his living room. From that moment on, I was hooked, and the rest is History!
I introduced myself to Lydia in 2016 in Edwards Hall at George Fox University. I said hello and we briefly talked about us both being on the track team. However, due to our schedules we did not run into each other often and did not get the opportunity to know each other. This is probably for the better since during my time in Edwards I was known for 2:00 AM Taco Bell runs and shooting nerf guns at people. Anyways in 2019, I got a follow request from Lydia and I think, “okay we met once years ago…she probably has something to ask me but needs me to accept her follow request for her to do so.” I accept. Waited 24 hours for there to be pure silence. I caved and asked her how it was going. To this day, I don’t know why she followed me but I guess that is why I am not a detective. Anyways we started to hit it off and I asked if she wanted to get coffee and talk about Norway (she mentioned her heritage is Norwegian and wanted to visit and I had recently been). Thankfully, I was mature enough to start this relationship and not go to Taco Bell at 2 AM. But I still sleep with a nerf gun under my pillow. But I think Lydia does too.
