WE'RE FINALLY GETTING MARRIED!!

We met on Nantucket Island. Steve was going back for his second year at Sankaty Head Golf Club and Stephanie was starting her second internship. Stephanie went to the island with a boyfriend and while there, she broke up with him. The boys, including Steve took her out for drinks to cheer her up to the Club Car (local bar). Stephanie never thought of Steve as anything more than a friend, but that night it all changed. They went on their first date to Lola 41 and were inseparable after. They both thought it would be nothing more than a summer fling, because she was heading back to NC to continue college and he would be heading to FL for work. Once the summer came to an end, neither one wanted to break it off, so they continued the relationship long distance.

They have been dating for 6 years. Steve had done a great job of letting Stephanie think that he hadn't been working on proposing. Their 6 year anniversary came up and he asked her to meet him at a hotel in Hyannis at 3 PM. She imagined all the different things that he would surprise her with on their anniversary, but never imagined a proposal. She met him at the hotel and they took a walk, before she knew it, they were at the ferry to take them to Nantucket. She was excited because they had not been back to visit since they left the island 4 years prior. Once they arrived on the island they walked around and headed towards Lola 41 to have dinner, which was the location of their 1st date, Stephanie's absolutely favorite restaurant on the island. After dinner Steve asked to take a walk, so they walked down the street. Stephanie couldn't figure out where they were headed, until they turned the corner and she realized they were headed towards Jetty's Beach (where they had their third date). They walked along the beach for a bit and then sat down in the sand to enjoy the sunset and the view. They were getting ready to leave and Stephanie turned around to grab her shoes and when she turned back around, he was down on one knee. She was shocked and couldn't believe it was true. Shocked, the first thing that came to her mind was "it's about time!" They then walked to a bench overlooking a marina and called to share the exciting news!
