Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Semi-formal. Think suits (but not tuxes), dresses (but not ballgowns), jumpsuits, dress shirt and pants, or similar. If you feel dressed up, you should be just fine! Bring comfy shoes for dancing, and keep an eye on the weather- it changes fast in Cleveland!

Question

Will we be outside?

Answer

The cocktail hour will be outside, weather permitting. The ceremony and reception will be indoors.

Question

Are my kids invited?

Answer

We love our friends and their kids, but due to capacity limitations at the venue, this event will be adults-only.

Question

Will there be an afterparty?

Answer

Yes! Festivities will continue after the reception downtown at Brel's, which is the restaurant bar for the Crowne Plaza (the wedding hotel where the shuttle departs and returns to). Brel's is open to the general public until 11 PM, and we've reserved it for our party from 11-1 AM.

Question

What is this ticket in my invitation for?

Answer

That is your parking pass for the ceremony. Apparently our ceremony venue has never heard of digital parking passes :) Please remember to bring it with you if you don't want to pay for parking for the ceremony!

Question

I heard something about a shuttle?

Answer

We will have a shuttle bus running in a loop between the wedding hotel (Crowne Plaza) and the reception venue. Feel free to take a cab or a ride share, but the shuttle is there if you don't want separate transportation.

Question

What are the logistics for the day of?

Answer

You will need to get yourself to the ceremony venue- this can be your own car, a cab, a rideshare, or even mass transit via bus or rail. It is probably too far to walk, so plan on having some sort of transportation. Your wedding invitation included a parking pass for free parking in a garage close to the venue. If you lose it- we have extra passes and you can always street park or pay for garage parking if necessary. After the ceremony, you are welcome to head back to the hotel, freshen up, and then grab a shuttle to the reception venue, which opens for cocktails at 4. The reception venue does offer parking, but we wanted to give everyone the option of a safe ride, so a free shuttle bus will run a loop between the main hotel (the Crowne Plaza) and the reception venue. After everyone from the hotel has been moved to the reception venue, the bus will be available at the reception venue to run folks back early, if they so choose. It will then run loops from the reception back to the hotel until everyone has gotten home safe. You are welcome to take a rideshare for any part of this, or to take your own transportation.

Question

How do I get to downtown from the airport?

Answer

There are a few options- Cleveland Hopkins (CLE) has a taxi stand, a rental car facility, rideshare pickup area, and a train that runs downtown straight from the airport. Depending on the hotel you choose, it may (or may not) be convenient to get from the train to your hotel with luggage. Just a note- the transit system in Cleveland is not like the one in NYC or Boston. It does not run all night, and it is not particularly well funded. Make sure you have a plan (or a backup plan) to get from the airport to the hotel, especially if you're landing late at night.

Question

Can I bring a car to the hotel?

Answer

Certainly! Both hotels offer Valet parking with in/out privileges for roughly $49/day. There are also a plethora of public and private parking garages and lots that offer daily rates that are far cheaper than that.
