Holly
Matron of Honor
The COO of the wedding! Holly and Madeline go way back. She used to babysit Madeline and her brothers, and she even went on Madeline's "framily" beach vacation as the babysitter. On said beach trip, she also taught everyone how to wall twerk. Holly is the older sister Madeline never had. She was Madeline's ride to school, the pool, and her first high school party. The two truly grew up together, and have been present for each other's best and worst moments. They have the sort of friendship where they can go weeks, months even, without seeing each other and pick up right where they left off. Holly is the kind of friend who will drop what she is doing to come pick you up off the side of the road when you're stranded and is always down for a ride through town, blasting Nicki Minaj and Beyonce. Holly has taught Madeline everything she knows about reality TV, and most of their shared vocabulary consists of Vanderpump Rules and the Real Housewives references. Holly is married to her husband Andrew (Madeline was a bridesmaid in her wedding), and they have a two-year-old daughter, Summit, who is also one of the precious flower girls!
Camryn
Bridesmaid
Camryn was Madeline's college roommate for two years at JMU. Three years, if you count freshman year, and all of the nights Madeline spent on the couch in Cam's dorm. When Cam found out Madeline and Griffin were "official," you could say she was less than thrilled, since all of the single roommates made a pact to stay single until after college. However, Cam eventually came to the idea of having a "house boyfriend" and married Madeline and Griffin during a wedding reception in their kitchen in 2020. This is just the formal ceremony y'all. They made a lifetime of memories in the two years they lived together. If there was an elevated surface, you could find Madeline and Cam on it, singing Taylor Swift or Kid Rock karaoke, using various kitchen utensils as microphones. Cam is the life of every party! A fun fact about her -- she is a former cheerleader and will do splits and flips on demand. There is no doubt you will be seeing these skills on the dance floor at the wedding. Camryn graduated from JMU in 2023, works as a realtor in Salem, Virginia, and is a substitute teacher. She also has a sweet German Shepherd, Stormi!
Julia
Bridesmaid
Madeline met Julia the first week of her junior year of college, and loved her the second they met! Julia turned into a main character in their house, despite living across town, and was an active participant in karaoke Tuesdays. Julia was often the fifth roommate. There were many mornings when Madeline walked downstairs to leave for class to find Julia asleep on their couch. She is sunshine in human form and always brings the best vibes to any function. Her hobbies include working out and cooking, and she sends the best health & wellness Tiktoks in the group chat. Julia lives in Northern Virginia with her boyfriend Steven, and is studying Psychology at George Mason University!
Ava
Bridesmaid
Ava and Madeline met the day she moved in with her and Cam during their junior year of college, and she has been one of their besties ever since! She fit right into the chaos, and they were swapping life stories by the end of the first night. A fun fact about Ava, her parents own a brewery called Bearchase (& it is gorgeous)! Ava lives in Northern Virginia with her boyfriend Jake. She works as a social media manager and dabbles in content creation and bartending! #influencerqueen
Allison
Bridesmaid
Madeline met Allison while she was visiting Camryn during their first "Hallo-weekend" at JMU. She visited the girls in Harrisonburg often, and it was always the best time. She was often a special guest star in many of Madeline and Camryn's Tiktok dancing videos. Allison is a former dancer and cheerleader, making her the perfect dance partner! Allison and Griffin bonded when Griffin nearly gave Allison a concussion while tubing at the lake. She is the best hype woman, and will always answer your message in the group chat. Allison graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2023 and is currently a nursing student at Radford University-Carillon!
Lindsay
Bridesmaid - Sister of the Groom
Lindsay is Griffin's older sister. She earned her spot in Heaven early on in life after growing up with Griffin as a younger brother. As many sisters with brothers know, you have to learn to be tough, and you need to be fast (for when your baby brother who is 6 inches taller than you chases you around the house with a knife). However, Lindsay also taught Griffin how to use a hair dryer, and he would help her do her hair in the mornings before school. As adults, Griffin and Lindsay have become best friends. Lindsay graduated from Radford University in 2020, where she met her now husband, Grayson. The two got married in September of 2024. They live in Virginia Beach, and together, they are proud parents of the goodest boys, Captain Dale and Howey.
Lani
Bridesmaid
Lani is Madeline's very sweet and even sassier cousin. After eleven long years of Madeline being the only girl in the family, Lani came along to steal the spotlight, and is the little sister Madeline never had. When she was little, Lani was often the subject of Madeline's many forced photoshoots and was the best little model. Pretty much her whole life, Lani has been subjected to Madeline trying to share all of her hobbies and interests, even if Lani could not care less. She loves to call Madeline a "D1 yapper," even though Lani is just as much of a "D1 yapper." (For anyone not up to date on Gen-Z slang, a "yapper" is someone who likes to talk). Lani is currently in 8th grade. She loves playing softball and confusing everyone with her middle-school slang words.
Jacob
Best Man
Jacob and Griffin have been best friends since they were six. They were put on the same Little League team, and the rest is history. These two went through it all together: many more years of baseball; learning how to drive; several broken bones; dabbling in party planning (sorry Karla and Cheryl); car karaoke; and many, many weekends at JMU doing their best to raise Madeline's blood pressure. They often seem more like brothers than best friends, and this shows in their arguments as well. Jacob and Griffin will be arguing one minute and going out for dinner an hour later. These two have pretty much an unbreakable bond after nearly twenty years of friendship and would give each other the shirts off their backs if the other needed it. Jacob currently works at the Water Dog in Downtown Lynchburg.
Cody
Groomsman
Griffin and Cody went to high school together, however, their friendship didn't truly blossom until college. Cody, along with fellow groomsmen, Powers and Carter, lived across the street from Madeline at JMU, which was quite the setup for Griffin. Nothing like having your best friends and your girlfriend all within 100 yards of each other. Cody has never turned down a good time, and Madeline can't tell you the number of times she has come home to find the two of them watching football and having a beer. Cody's family radiates Big Duke Energy, and the Syreks bleed purple and gold, as seen by their famous tailgates (some may say they are the best tailgates JMU has ever seen). If you catch Cody at the wedding, some topics of conversation may include the Buffalo Bills, your parlay from this week, and quite literally anything to do with sports.
Powers
Groomsman
Powers and Griffin grew up as teammates, and this friendship continued into college, where Friday nights on the ballfield turned into Friday nights slamming beers and debating whose sports team sucked less that week (Powers and the author of this page are Pittsburgh fans, so Griffin never wins that argument). For three years, Powers, Cody, and Carter lived together. Their house was the setting of many unforgettable Fridays and Saturdays, where you could usually find Griffin and Powers being each other's worst influence. As for Sundays, they were spent in the living room, rotting away watching sports. Madeline took up residence on their couch, often napping with Powers' Pittsburgh Steelers blanket, hoping to bring forth all of the good juju. Powers graduated from JMU in 2024, where he was a member of the club baseball team.
Caleb
Groomsman
Caleb and Griffin's mothers were best friends growing up, so this friendship was pretty much inevitable. Some of Griffin's earliest childhood memories include bus rides home from school with Caleb and playing together after school. Like nearly all of the groomsmen, he and Griffin played baseball together. While on the varsity team, they were throwing partners, which if you know baseball, this is a bond not easily broken. He graduated from Virginia Tech and played for their Club Baseball team. The two former teammates now coach baseball at their former high school together. Caleb is engaged to his lovely fiancée, Maddie!
Carter
Groomsman
Carter lived with Powers and Cody during their freshman year at JMU, which was where he was introduced to Griffin. Their friendship truly began the moment Griffin found out Carter was a Yankees fan, and in true Griffin fashion, he immediately began bullying Carter about how the Yankees sucked. This is a bold choice for a Red Sox fan to make. These two enjoy making outlandish bets, even though the loser never follows through (including one where the loser had to eat an entire jar of mayonnaise). Carter graduated from JMU in 2024. His interests include the New York Giants, his girlfriend Claire, and bullying Griffin for being a Red Sox fan.
Jackson
Groomsman
Following right on theme, Jackson and Griffin met on the baseball field in middle school. Jackson was always the guy who could keep Griffin level-headed (or as level-headed as possible) during a heated moment in a game. For anyone at our engagement party, you know Jackson as the guy jumping off the dock wearing a life jacket as a diaper. He was also the only person willing to participate in the Polar Plunge on New Year's Day because he is not a weenie (side-eyeing every other Groomsman and the Groom). Jackson played baseball at Mercer University for four years and is now playing at Virginia Tech while earning his Master's degree.
Ben
Groomsman - Brother of the Bride
Ben is Madeline's younger brother. A fun fact - Madeline actually picked his name before he was born. In hindsight, letting your 2 year old name their sibling was a risky move. Their Mom was leaning toward another name, but when little Madeline heard the name, "Ben", she told everyone that was her baby brother's name, and that was that. It's a running joke that Ben is the favorite child, just after the dog & cat. Growing up, Ben played baseball, basketball, and half a season of football (before he tore his ACL). Ben now goes to college in Dundalk, Maryland, where he is playing baseball. If you see Ben at the wedding, some conversation starters could include (shocker) baseball, the Pittsburgh Steelers, his lovely girlfriend Jade, and the moon landing conspiracy.
Luke
Groomsman - Brother of the Bride
Luke is Madeline's baby brother! In truth, when she found out she was having another brother, she cried and asked God why he hadn't answered her prayers for a little sister. However, she got over this when she figured out she could just as easily bribe Luke into dressing up in her old dance costumes with snacks. After many, many years of tormenting one another, they have finally gotten to a place of tolerating one another's presence, and sometimes they even get along. Luke enjoys playing video games, playing football and baseball, spending time with his girlfriend, Anna, rewatching Game of Thrones (a classic), and doing everything he can to annoy Griffin. Luke is graduating high school in June (such a busy month, sorry Mom & Dad)!
Julia
Flower Girl
Julia is the youngest of the cousins, and she is the perfect caboose! God knew Madeline was about to head to college when she was born, so he sent the perfect second edition along in her absence. Julia loves Taylor Swift, babies, and all things accessories. She is in the first grade and cannot wait to be a flower girl!
Summit
Flower Girl
Madeline never knew how much she needed her bestie to have a baby until Miss Summit Elizabeth came along! She is the Matron of Honor Holly's two-year-old daughter. Summit loves Chickfila, Bluey, Princess Ariel, and snuggling her cousin Laney Ruth.
