We met on a dating app and after many text exchanges, we met up for our first date shortly after. We were planning to meet for a hike and ended up at two different trails by mistake! Both of us were nervous but hit it off right away and (of course) Gretchen didn't stop talking for 5 straight miles! We connected over their shared interests in lacrosse, watching The Amazing Race, our dogs, and closeness with our friends and family. After hiking we decided to have a picnic in a park after grabbing a bite at a local café.

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon after coming home from church, we headed down to the park where we had our first date. Jeff had the idea to pick up lunch from the same place we grabbed food for our first picnic. As soon as we got out of the car, Gretchen instantly started crying with the biggest smile on her face. We walked to the same spot where we shared our first meal and a blanket, flowers, and champagne were waiting for us. After telling Gretchen how much he loved her and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, Jeff got down on one knee and popped the question.
