David was one of the first people I (Greta) met on my first day of work at the Big Sur Lodge in California. I remember being so nervous, but David was welcoming and helpful. Throughout the first 5 months of working there, while David worked in the kitchen and I at the front desk of the hotel, we became quick friends. After a rowdy game of beer pong one night with friends, we had our first kiss and the rest is history. Just kidding - a lot in between that. The day after our first kiss, the world shut down due to Covid, and David ended up going back home to Santa Maria for a bit to quarantine while I stayed in Big Sur. We kept in touch but nothing too serious, unsure of what things would be like once David was able to come back to Big Sur. Once David was able to return to Big Sur, we had our first date going kayaking in the Monterey Bay. Soon we were "official", going on many coffee dates in Pacific Grove and eating sushi by the water. The opportunity for us to move to New York arose 5 months into our relationship and I remember being so nervous to ask David if he wanted to move with me. He was born and raised in California, which is a pretty sweet deal, so I had a hard time convincing myself he would want to leave that for the East Coast. Well, the day after Christmas we started our cross-country drive to Syracuse, New York. We eventually got our own apartment together and adopted two sister kittens, Molly and Daisy. They make us laugh every day and I always say they are the best Syracuse souvenirs we could have asked for! At this time in our life, we are living in New Hampshire. Our favorite things to do together are travel, visit new coffee shops, and take day trips to Maine. We are so excited for what lies ahead in our future together and we're unbelievably grateful we will get to celebrate our love with you all in Monterey.
