Our Story

Highschool sweethearts turned lifelong lovers

Lets start at the very beginning. A Verryyyyyyy long time ago in a kingdom far far away (Woodhaven) a cutie princess was born to Mary and Michael Delaney. There she lived with her family where she enjoyed watching Disney princess movies, baking, and going on walks to the park. Little did she know, on the other side of the park (Glendale) there was a cutie prince named Gregory born to Sue and Tony Jans. Gregory loved playing video games and traveling with his family. The prince and the princess grew up and lived in close proximity, but they never met until one fateful day at the royal boarding school (Christ the King). Okay, now that's cute and all but lets be for real. She was a sophomore; busy with school, musical theater, chorus, and a billion other useless things 15-year olds are worried about. He was a new freshman worried about how to make friends and which clubs to join. A mutual friend introduced the two in Mr. Jans' computer room (thanks Mr. Jans) and very shyly hit it off. Over the next several months, the two were coincidentally always at the same events and hangouts, having so many mutual friends. It wasn't until three days before Nicole's birthday that Gregory had the courage to ask her out - and she responded with an enthusiastic “sure!!”. Round of applause please. From there, the two hung out everyday; whether it was waiting for the other in between classes, waiting to get out of after-school clubs, or going to Chili's on the weekends. They quickly fell in love (he said it first) then had their first kiss in a high school staircase and first dance at her sweet sixteen (one month into dating, in front of her entire family after just meeting them) to Ed Sheeran's “Perfect”. The two dated all through high school, supporting each other in speech and debate competitions, musical theater performances, academic speeches, and musical concerts. Then, Nicole graduated high school, and moved on to CityTech, where she studied Hospitality Management for 4 years to become a pastry chef. She eventually graduated magna cum laude, mostly taking classes during the pandemic and online. Gregory graduated high school as valedictorian and moved to Lakeland, Florida to study Computer Science. He went on to graduate summa cum laude from Florida Polytechnic University. During this time, the two were forced to be long distance for close to 4 years, not seeing each other for up to 6 months at a time. Thankfully, lots of video calls, texting, and visits during school breaks got them through those tough times. It wasn't until summer of 2023 when Nicole moved to Orlando for the Disney College Program for 8 months that the two were solidifying their plans for their future together. After the DCP, Nicole went back to New York, finished school, and packed up to move to Florida in August of 2024. At the same time, Greg was getting ready to graduate in the winter. In August, while celebrating Gregory's 21st birthday in Epcot, he proposed (after loosing Nicole's Disney ears). Spoiler, she said yes!! They celebrated by calling and texting everyone and spreading the good news. Shortly after, Nicole started her full time bakery job and Greg finished up school and started full time as a computer systems engineer. By Christmas, they moved from Lakeland to Wesley Chapel into their first apartment together. A lot of blood, sweat, tears, and vodka have gone into planning this wedding where we will say "I Do" (Hopefully). So please, join us in celebrating these two crazy high school sweethearts who will be together "till we are food for the worms to eat" (IYKYK). We can't wait for you to celebrate with us, so come ready to cry, laugh, and dance your ass off -The Future Mrs Jans
