For some, the Awards of Excellence at Bright Horizons is an event to recognize great work and celebrate your colleagues. For Laura and Greg, it's a time to clean house and win all of the awards, though none more memorable than the award of love (ewww, gross). Thanks to Tracy, Greg's former boss, and Nil, Laura's former marketing colleague, it was a foregone conclusion that they would meet after the Awards of Excellence event in 2013, and all but required that they hit it off. Luckily for both Laura and Greg they did or Tracy and Nil would never let them hear the end of it. Their conversation at Jerry Remy's (his restaurant, not his house) was lengthy, enjoyable, and after a few drinks totally forgettable, at least for Greg. One thing Greg does remember is a conversation about online dating. A funny side note is that Laura's friend and colleague (who shall be nameless) was also involved in the conversation, at least until she noticed the pair's connection. But while trying to play it cool so not to seem too interested, Greg thought it wise to offer online dating advice to the women, after all he was a VERY successful online dater in his own right. And after the two shared their "must haves" for their significant other (pulled directly from the dating profiles) it was clear they were a perfect match as he was looking for someone athletic and she was looking for someone who liked to travel. While Laura's idea of athletics is reading a book at world record pace, and Greg's idea of traveling is walking all the way down the hall for a beer, the two found many other things that brought them here today. In the end Laura and Greg got [almost] everything they wanted - Laura got her tall (kind of), tanned (not exactly "dark"), and handsome-ish fellow, and Greg got his incredibly smart, beautiful, and award-winning lady - she cleans house at the Awards of Excellence while Greg cleans the awards. A perfect match.
