Wedding Party

William Cotton

Officiant

I'll always remember at the start of your relationship, things always felt like they were built on the base of a strong friendship. Hanging out with the two of you wasn't like hanging out with a new couple, but just friends getting together and enjoying the same things. Your relationship still feels that way, and is no doubt the strength that you two find together.

Kristin Aguero

Grooms Grownup

My memories with Greg go all the way back to being onstage together in “Bye, Bye, Birdie” when I was 11 years old. They continue through high school, where he spent too much time bossing me around as a stage manager, and they include awkward prom pictures when I accompanied him to his senior prom. I will never forget the first time I met Shanna. She arrived at an annual party I used to throw to find a bunch of weirdos she had never met acting like fools. Shanna jumped right on the shenanigans. After her induction that night, Greg and her became unofficial cohosts of the party, helping to set up, and ensuring our annual game of Slip ‘n Flip would go off without a hitch. I have a lot of wonderful memories and am excited for more to come.

Amanda Sullivan

Matron of Honor

My favorite memory of Shanna and Greg goes back to my wedding. Shanna was my Maid of Honor so on the day of she was coordinating with venue, directing family and friends, and keeping me happy and relaxed. But also behind the scenes was a Greg, new to our family, also running around and making sure things were getting done. I was so happy to see my sister excited about her now boyfriend and partner in crime, and super grateful to have my wedding run extra smoothly because of them!

Maid of Honor

Not all friendships start with a positive moment. Before the sleepovers and the hugs, before the inside jokes and the code-names for crushes, Shanna and I hated each other. In the battle for roly poly (pill bug) world domination, she was Star Wars, and I was Star Trek. To this day, we cannot remember who had the better houses and who found the better bugs, but we can remember that the war was fierce. Then, we turned seven. A truce was made, and from that day on, we have been the best of friends. Shanna is my sister, and I'm thrilled that she found a guy who is not scared away by our skype conversations. Though I do occasionally wish that she would tell me when Greg is in the room when I'm on speaker phone.

Brother of Honor

The day Shanna came into this world, I met her for the first time at the hospital. Unheard by my parents, but thankfully captured on video for all to enjoy years later: my first observation about my baby sister was "You did a good job pushing that thing out." That beautiful "thing" would go on to have the world's most powerful shriek, but only when her sister and I wrongfully assumed she would enjoy getting fully involved in the epic mudfight we experienced on the banks of the Rogue River. I never would have expected that the same girl who could not handle the mere prospect of getting muddy grew into a woman willing to baseball slide across a farm field during our wedding to fix a malfunctioning audio system with Greg by her side.

Michael Norman

Cousin of Honor

My favorite memory with Shanna is when we went on a road trip with my aunt and uncle. Shanna and I watched her parents almost die as their raft flipped over, as minors, we were not in the boat. They were ok, but the two 12 year olds were suddenly in charge of the smaller children as the guides all shoved gear in our hands and then dove off of cliffs to come to their rescue. My favorite memory of Greg is the St. Patrick's Day they invited me down to go to Le Cheile. It was a great night, and I am still confused that Greg got up the next morning for a run. I was honored to be able to help Greg set up the surprise engagement and get Momma down to New York. I am so glad they are getting hitched, and glad they don't spend all their money at Le Cheile.

Greg and I always have a Christmas movie party every year since college, same movies every year. It was a tradition that was not always easy to find time for but We made it work. Hanging out around the holidays and saying random parts of movies (not usually the same parts) was a time I always looked forward to and cherished every year. One random non-Christmas movie night Greg, Shanna, and I were watching Independence Day. Greg and Shanna started saying word for word the lines to the movie almost to perfectly. I remember when you finished you looked at each other and laughed. It was the first time I really got to see the beautiful love between you both. You guys are in sync with each other, even when your not. It is always a joy to hang around with the two of them.

I met Greg giving him a tour of PSU. Greg and I became family at Penn State, he is my grand little. No matter how dumb we are, he makes sure the family still stays connected. I first met Shanna at the early days of LeGayla. She had serious courage coming to that bar and meeting all of Greg’s friends and “boyfriends”. My most memorable moment of Shanna was when she was the one to give the NYE slap to Greg. To this day I remember the raw emotion in your voice, the sincerity the compassion and the love as you pleaded not to do it. It didn’t live up to my slap but it was still great. That day I realized you two truly loved each other and at the end of that night, we made sure you made sure you made it home safe and sound because whether or not you knew it you were part of the family now.

I don’t have one specific favorite memory of Shanna and Greg — when I think of them, I think of every time we all hang out, and in particular, of playing games together. They are both such friendly, caring people, and together they are one of the most fun-loving couples around. They are the first to welcome everyone into their home for food and games, and though it may get insanely competitive, it always ends with laughter (and with the girls winning).

Greg and I met at PSU. On our 2nd night, we wandered around campus all night. We found a box of aerosol healing spray and we took one with us. We were goofing around a threatening to heal each other with it. At graduation he gave me that same healing spray. I remember thinking Greg doesn't want anyone to know that he's sweet and always thinking of others. I met Shanna when we attended a friend's wedding. At the bar Shanna and I talked while the others yelled about what karaoke song to sing. I mentioned my sister had just gotten married a few months prior and remarked that she had proposed to her husband. Shanna looked at me and asked, "How does one go about doing that?" I'm glad she didn't have to pop the question herself, but Shanna has always been serious about this relationship.

Greg and I met in college. He had a grill, I had a truck, we became the School of Theatre tailgate hosts. After many shopping trips, early mornings, rain, snow, beer shortages, and corn hole, we became friends. With Greg always getting us in the S-zone, and me buying beer from a school bus we were the perfect team. After college, we became NYC roommates. Our apartment was a rotating door of third roommates, HIMYM marathons, and themed parties. Our New Year’s parties became legendary. I think Greg does parties for a living I’m not actually sure. When I moved out, Greg was devastated, but he soon met Shanna. The apartment was still a revolving door of roommates, but Shanna stuck around. Eventually they got 2 cats and no roommates. Greg was in our wedding, so I guess this is sort of revenge.

Greg and I met back in 2nd Grade. We played golf together, magic the gathering, pizza Fridays at his parents house. Sleep overs, pranks like putting garlic powder on Greg's cake at said sleepovers, accidental concussions and staying up too late. The years after College we were back in Greg's basement. Back to hanging out doing stupid things and wondering what is next. Greg was in my wedding and I am excited to be in his. I remember meeting Shanna and not being able to pronounce her name and calling her Santa, which she took no problem a good sign. In How I Met Your Mother there is a porch test for Ted's new girlfriend. There wasn't much needed for a porch test but it was pretty good. I am so happy to see my friend find someone. Especially, because the porch test was passed so easily.

Friend of Honor

Greg and Shanna are a couple of weirdos and their marriage will be insanely weird, and that is just the way we like it. Having met Greg through trivia nights and then discovering all of our common connections, theater, sports, Muppets, and Penn State, we quickly became weird friends. After a time he introduced me to a friend of his named Shanna, who started our first interaction by excitedly telling me that my ex-girlfriend (whom she knew) had recently gotten married. I did not like that, or Shanna, at that moment. But, at Greg’s urging, I got to know Shanna. She turned out to be terrific, and fun, and caring, and weird. I love them both and am honored to be able to heckle their wedding.

Friend of Honor

I’ve known Greg ever since I moved back from California, he was friends with my wife first so he kept me in his phone with her maiden name, I can only assume he hasn’t changed it in 8 years of friendship. My favorite memories of Greg and Shanna are Traveling with me to Disney world, wearing matching shirts with Greg and watching as he tries desperately to make Shanna love it just as much as he does. They have become wonderful travel companions and I hope our trips become tradition.

Julie Haggerty

Friend of Honor

I first met Greg doing theater and we’ve been friends ever since. My favorite memory of Greg and Shanna has to be traveling with them to Disney World while I was pregnant. Unfortunately, I was unable to go on any of the “fun” rides so they were nice enough to ride for me and live stream it on Facebook so I could enjoy. Later in the trip they made sure to always find the pregnant lady ice-cream and a place to sit!

I loved hanging with Mr Greg and Ms Shanna in New York. Greg took me to my first baseball game and Shanna watched me when my mommy was too sick. Molly’s response to being asked what is your favorite memory with Mr Greg and Ms Shanna. “I don’t know what that is... I like them and miss them!”

Zoey Croughn

Flower Child

My favorite memory is when Greg pretended to be a bee for 30 mins to entertain my sister and I got one on one time with Shanna.

Eli Sullivan

Ring Bear

Eli’s best memory of Aunt Shanna and Uncle Greg was visiting them in New York at their home before moving down south to Asheville. They took him to the best parks with water fountains and swings, let him sit outside on their front step and watch endless buses go by, and tolerated his invasive enthusiasm for their kittens. It was his first and favorite trip into the city, made even better by the fact that they got engaged while he was visiting!

Finlay Haggerty

Ring Bear

Hi I’m Finlay and I’m 5. I first Met Uncle Greg and Aunt Shanna when I was 1 day old. They came to the hospital to see me, and uncle Greg had grown a beard that Aunt Shanna still makes fun of him for. Since then we have gone to NYCFC soccer games and Disney World together! I prefer to sit on uncle Greg’s shoulders sometimes to see parades or fireworks because he is taller than my dad.

Beckett Sullivan

Flower Child

Beckett’s best memory of Aunt Shanna and Uncle Greg was when they made me a Thomas the Tank Engine cake for my birthday and I got to help decorate it!

My favorite memory of Uncle Greg and Aunt Shanna is watching all the busses drive down Ft Washington Avenue.
