Detroit Riverwalk
The Detroit River serves as the international border between Canada and the United States, connecting the Upper Great Lakes to Lake Erie. You can get a great view of it on the Riverwalk, which is right across the street from the Courtyard Marriott!
Belle Isle Park
Belle Isle is beautiful and a great way to get a view of the Detroit River, Windsor, and Detroit. There is also a small aquarium and a conservatory located on the island.
Detroit Institute of Arts
If you love art, definitely check DIA out!
MGM Grand Detroit
If you enjoy gambling, we are told MGM is the best casino in Detroit to check out! Greektown Casino and Motor City Casino are also nearby.
Parker's Alley
Parker's Alley is the alleyway behind the Shinola hotel which has shopping, food, and bars. The Brakeman is a large, fun bar with lots of games (beer pong, jenga, fooseball, ect) and fried chicken, Mister Dips has ice cream and amazing burgers/fries, Evening Bar is a cocktail bar with a speakeasy vibe, and Detroit Twist is a soft pretzel window with to-go cocktails!
The Belt
An alleyway downtown that has lots of cool graffiti. Take a walk through it and if The Skip or Standby are open, stop in and get a drink, they do not disappoint!
Sid Gold’s Request Room
Live Piano Karaoke meets Speakeasy. We always have a blast at this bar!
Batch Brewing Company
There are a few great breweries in Detroit. This is a perfect one to go to if you’re with a lot of people as they have a huge tent and outside area with fire pits.
Buddy's Pizza
The home of Detroit style pizza. Even Jen, a born and raised NY style pizza lover, has found a big place in her heart for it.
American Coney Island
If you want to try the food Detroit is “known for,” it’s a Coney dog. There is an ongoing debate with Detroiters on whether American or Lafayette Coney Island (right next door) is better, Greg votes American.

The Henry Ford Museum
If you’re interested in cars, head over to Dearborn and go to the Henry Ford Museum. Right next door to it is also the Automobile Hall of Fame.
Eastern Market
Eastern Market is open every Saturday with a huge variety of vendors.
