We know a lot of you are traveling from out of town wanted to provide some recommendations for when you’re not at our wedding. There are plenty of walkable places from the hotel and cool things to do just a short drive away.

The Detroit River serves as the international border between Canada and the United States, connecting the Upper Great Lakes to Lake Erie. You can get a great view of it on the Riverwalk, which is right across the street from the Courtyard Marriott!

Belle Isle is beautiful and a great way to get a view of the Detroit River, Windsor, and Detroit. There is also a small aquarium and a conservatory located on the island.

Parker's Alley is the alleyway behind the Shinola hotel which has shopping, food, and bars. The Brakeman is a large, fun bar with lots of games (beer pong, jenga, fooseball, ect) and fried chicken, Mister Dips has ice cream and amazing burgers/fries, Evening Bar is a cocktail bar with a speakeasy vibe, and Detroit Twist is a soft pretzel window with to-go cocktails!
