We were both on a work trip for Ford in Breckenridge, Colorado. Greg was working on engine calibration while I was working on transmission calibration. On Friday night of the trip, we caught each other's attention at a dinner with coworkers. The following night, both of our teams ended up at the same bar. After a few drinks of liquid courage, I walked up to Greg and told him "I think you're really cute." From that night on, we went from powertrain to power couple.
I was visiting my family in New York for the Thanksgiving holiday. On Black Friday, my sisters asked if I wanted to go with them to a shop small business event at an auto museum in Saratoga (yes, this went over my head, I didn't question anything weird during COVID). Meanwhile, Greg was driving from Michigan and I had no idea. The man at the front desk was in on it and told us to walk upstairs where we would find the event. I went upstairs and and as I walked around the corner Greg popped out from behind a pillar and got down on one knee. I barely remember what he said because I was so shocked to see him there and of course, immediately started crying tears of joy... and said yes!
