The story begins when a girl from Rio de Janeiro made the bold decision to pack her bags, leave home, and embark on a new adventure in California in search of new experiences. Little did she know that just one month after arriving, she would find herself locked down in a global pandemic living with a host family she had just met. At the end of 2020, in the midst of that uncertain time, a simple swipe right unexpectedly sparked the beginning of a love story. From socially distanced first dates to eventually moving in together, Dani and Greg began building their life side by side in California. In 2022, their love journeyed to Rio, where Greg met Dani’s family and friends and experienced the warmth of her Brazilian roots. Through cultural differences, career changes, nursing school, visa challenges, and countless adventures exploring the world together, their bond only grew stronger. Then, in May 2024, Greg proposed at one of their favorite places, Bass Lake, a spot rich with his family’s history. Now, they begin a new chapter of their lives by tying the knot in the very place where their story first took flight, Rio de Janeiro. It’s here that they’ll have the beautiful opportunity to bring together their worlds: friends, family, culture, and a touch of adventure.
