Do I need to speak Spanish?

Answer

A good amount of locals/workers in the Dominican speak some English (especially at the Marriott hotel) but it wouldn't hurt to brush up on some basic phrases :)

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

You are welcome to bring your kids! The Marriott hotel has a children's play area so we would probably recommend staying there if you plan to bring your little ones.

How do I get to Las Terrenas from the airport?

Answer

We are happy to help arrange shuttles to/from the airport once we have our final RSVPs in. Especially if there are other groups with similar flight times, you might be able to split a shuttle to save on costs.

Should I rent a car?

Answer

We would not recommend renting a car. The downtown area of Las Terrenas gets very congested with scooters and cars can barely fit. We would either recommend renting a scooter/ATV or there is a lot that is walkable on the beach you will be staying at. If you want to explore off the beach area you can always hop on a motorcycle taxi that can take you anywhere in Las Terrenas for a few dollars!

What should I rent then?

Answer

If you have experience on mopeds and feel comfortable on them we would recommend this! Otherwise the ATVs/quads would probably be a good second option if you're not as comfortable on a moped. You can comfortably fit 2 or sometimes 3 people on an ATV/quad. Otherwise you can rent a buggy or a golf cart for probably the least stressful mode of transportation. If you plan to rent something and go into town, we recommend making sure your phone has service as it can be very easy to get lost!

How do I rent one of these then?

We will help arrange rentals as we get closer to the wedding. Also if you are unsure about wanting to rent a scooter/ATV/etc, you can check it out once you're in town and decide from there! There will guaranteed be plenty of rentals available.
