A large beach with good swimming, stand-up paddleboards and kayaks for rent, and an outdoor bar/restaurant that serves American fare and drinks you can take onto the beach. One of our favorite activities is paddleboarding north along the shore to the big rock (you'll see it) and cliff-jumping into the water on a hot day. You can also walk to the north end of the shore and head into the trails for an easy hike with lots of lookouts over the water (one of which is where Jeff proposed to Caitlin). :)
To rent bikes (they have a huge selection--including e-bikes, tandems, kiddie sidecars, etc.) and explore the bike path. There are beaches and plenty to see whether you head north or south along the coast of Lake Champlain. Jeff's office is right upstairs; mention his name if the owner is around and you MIGHT get a discount. ;)
A kids' science museum right on the water. You can spend hours here with a little one (seriously).
A fun bar downtown with vintage arcade games, a lengthy beer list, and solid cocktails. 21+ until 2am; all-ages from 4-6pm.
Our favorite brewery right across from Lake Champlain and the bike path. Hosts great bands every weekend. Casual but lively atmosphere. Lots of seating on the patio, out back, and in the taproom. Specializes in IPAs and sours. Head over Sunday for their vinyl DJ sets and food truck.
Live music almost every night, plus an adjoined dance club (Light Club Lamp Shop) you can pop into for the same cover on Friday and Saturday nights until 2am.
Hip cocktail lounge right across from City Hall Park.
The local hipster bar. ;) Funky vibe, great drinks. Play a round of pool or grab a slice of pizza made right next door from Folino's.
Jeff's favorite place to grab a beer and a quick bite. Family-friendly pub with unpretentious food, craft brews, and a large patio.
If you're willing to venture out of town a bit, Camel's Hump is home to our favorite hikes. You can see "the hump" on your drive to the wedding (and also from the patio at the venue).
