Rachel and Billy’s story begins where all great love stories do: on the dance floor at Phil and Elise Luong’s wedding in New Orleans, April 2022. Despite having many mutual friends—and even attending the same events over the years—they had somehow managed to never cross paths. Clearly, the universe was waiting for the right moment… and the right dance floor. That moment arrived when Billy debuted his signature dance move: “getting low” (a skill he proudly credits to his time as a catcher). Certain this would instantly win Rachel over, Billy was shocked when the move had the opposite effect. Rachel briefly concluded that Billy might, in fact, play for the other team. Thankfully, the bride and several helpful witnesses quickly cleared up the misunderstanding. The rest of the wedding weekend was spent laughing, dancing, and getting to know each other—but the spark didn’t fully ignite just yet. It wasn’t until a few months later, when they reconnected in Seattle, that things really took off. From there, it all came together quickly. Bonding over a shared love of water, wine, incredible food, and travel, Rachel and Billy realized they had found something special. What started with one fateful dance floor moment has turned into a lifelong adventure—and they can’t wait to keep dancing through life together. (Billy wrote this. Rachel allowed it.) 😄
