Evans Street
Morehead city, Beaufort and Atlantic Beach are the 3 towns all within a 10 mile radius down in Carteret County. Morehead city is on the mainland just after the bridge going into Atlantic Beach. There is a great little waterfront area that's on the ICW with lotsss of restaurants and bars to eat and drink at. Several places are right on the water with great views and good food. To mention just a few, Tower 7, Jack's, and Southern salt are all on the water with outdoor seating options and food. There's also lots of little shops along the waterfront here as well including one of our favorite little shops to get gifts at called Dee Gee's.
Island Express Ferry Service
One of our favorite things about the area is the incredible boating opportunities that it provides. We'll be a little busy this weekend or we would be happy to take you around ourselves. If the weather is good and you are interested in exploring the barrier islands the Island Express Ferry service is a great option to get you around quickly and efficiently. Good chance you'll catch a glimpse of the wild horses roaming around on the islands if you decide to make a trip!
Front Street
Beaufort is an adorable little beach town right on the water. Front street has lots of little shops and great restaurants to enjoy while also getting to hear the ocean and smell the salt air.
Fort Macon Beach & Historic Landmark
Fort Macon State Park is centered on an impeccably restored pre-Civil War fort that offers daily guided tours and frequent cannon and musket demonstrations. Extensive exhibits educate visitors on fort history and the natural surroundings.
North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores
Every time we passed the aquarium for the first year we went down to the beach Will would say "that's the aquarium!" excitedly. I came to find out about 1.5 years later that he has in fact never been to said aquarium. Nonetheless, we've heard great things and it is a great place to take kids for the day!

Atlantic Beach "Boardwalk"
Located at the top of "The Circle" this public beach access is a hub of activity with beach access, volleyball, and plenty of parking. Nearby you can find Bahia Beach House and Surf Bar (one of our favorites), Idle Hour Biergarten, and The Tacklebox Tavern—all great options for a drink or a bite to eat.
