Marco Polo-VCE is closest about 40 min away. Milan also has several airports that are sometimes cheaper, but are around a 2.5 hour drive or train from the venue. Personally I use "google flights" when booking flights, but Hopper and Sky Scanner are also great! Tuesday nights are generally the cheapest time to book flights (I have no clue why). Also, don't just look at US based airlines as they will be the most expensive option. Airlines such as British Airways and Air Lingus tend to be cheaper when flying from the US.
We would be more than happy to come pick you up from the Venice airport or a nearby train station if you let us know what time and date you are arriving! If you choose to rent a car obtaining a international driving permit from AAA is only $15 and is valid for 1 year. Gas and tolls do add up quickly though. Train Italia is the most user friendly train system in Italy and is generally fairly priced. Just double check or ask which station you are going into as most cities have multiple.
Downtown Vicenza is not far from the venue and has a ton of shopping, food, and sightseeing. We also can recommend places to visit! Just ask!
We are looking into reserving rooms at the venue. There are also several hotels within the area. Hotels here are much smaller than the US so it is proving difficult to find one to accommodate everyone. Booking.com is generally the cheapest website to book through in Italy. There are also a few more budget friendly options such as hostels which are still very clean and private rooms available.
