It all started thanks to our younger brothers, Will and Braydon, who played on the same travel baseball team during the summer of 2022. Landon was helping coach that season, and one day in the dugout, he jokingly asked the boys if any of them had an older sister. Will said he did and that was the beginning of it all. Around that same time, my mom had already noticed Landon at practices and games. She kept texting me about “the cute coach” and even started sneaking pictures of him to send my way, a true mom move! Landon noticed me at a few of the games and started looking me up on social media. During a tournament weekend in Nashville, TN, I ended up chatting with Landon’s parents and brother at a restaurant and other team activities. Apparently, they decided to play matchmaker and told Landon he had to talk to me. Not long after, he sent me a DM on Instagram asking for my Snapchat and that’s how the conversations began. After a couple of weeks of messaging back and forth, we finally met in person at another tournament in Cincinnati, OH. Landon messaged me saying his mom had “accidentally” made dinner reservations for five instead of four and asked if I wanted to join them. I was hesitant at first, so I agreed on one condition: that I could bring Will along. When we got to the hotel parking garage, Landon’s parents and our brothers suddenly hopped into their car and drove off, leaving just the two of us to drive separately to the restaurant… nearly an hour away! About fifteen minutes into the drive, just as we were finally getting to really talk, one of Landon’s tires blew. We pulled over, his parents turned around to rescue us, and after a quick tire change, we eventually made it to dinner. It wasn’t exactly the smoothest first “date,” but it definitely made for a story we’ll never forget!
