Things To Do

We've forged fond memories of day trips and weekend getaways all around Wisconsin. Here are some recommended eats, drinks and sights if you have the time!

Explore boutiques in downtown Port Washington

If you have: 30 min or more to spare, or if you are in search of a convenient, but good meal Distance: Walkable if you are staying at the Harborview. A 6 minute drive if you are staying at the Holiday Inn Express. Eating & Drinking: For a quick breakfast and pastries, we recommend The Daily Baking Company. For a heartier brunch or dinner, check out the Moonlight Supper Club and the Steerage Dining Saloon.

Hike/stroll Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve

If you have: at least 2 hours Distance: 12 min drive from the Harborview and 17 min drive from the Holiday Inn Express For those of you that want to soak in the fall foliage and views of Lake Michigan!

Explore neighboring Cedarburg

If you have: 2-4 hours Distance: ~20 min drive from both hotel blocks For those looking to max out on charming downtown walks, and want more after Port Washington. Cedar Creek Winery offers cute vibes and Wisconsin wine. Check out Stilt House Gastro Bar and Rebellion Brewing USA for brews and food.

Apple-picking at Apple Holler

If you have: an extra half-day Distance: An hour drive from both hotels. 22 min drive from MKE (Milwaukee). An hour from ORD (Chicago) Of course, there are numerous orchards to pick from, but we make it an annual trip to go to Apple Holler, which also offers apple-themed treats, solid food, and live music.
