Mission San Juan Capistrano is a historic landmark and museum in the hear of San Juan Capistrano. It was founded more than two hundred years ago and and is famous for the annual "Return of the Swallows" event held every March. The Mission wecomes over 300,000 visitors every year.
Crystal Cove State Park is just a short drive from San Juan Capistrano and offers some fantastic hiking with over 2400 acres of land plus a small beach with Tidepools. It's also the site or our engagement photos! Weather permitting, this is a great excursion.
Even in January, the beach towns of Orange County are a great place to hangout. Dana Point is only a few miles from San Juan Capistrano, while Laguna Beach and San Clemente are only a short drive away. Even Newport and Huntington Beach are well within driving distance if you're adventurous. If you are missing the beach, we encourage you to visit during your stay.
