We have budgeted space for every non-coupled person over 18 to bring a plus one. So I guess the question should be...can you GET a date? ;)
Due to the nature of the reception (adult beverages + uncensored music + water features), we are not comfortable having anyone under the age of 16 on Summit Lodge grounds/rooms during the reception/the night of September 16th. But, we know it's hard to leave family behind when you travel. To that end, everyone is welcome at Friday's welcome party, and we are happy to accommodate older children at the ceremony if they wish to attend. We are also more than happy to help you secure a trusted sitter for the evening. If any of this interests your party, please reach out to the M or G at your earliest convenience!
NO. Most of you are traveling from out of state, many from a great ways. While we've included a registry for those who would like to support our venture into married life, the planning and effort it takes to attend our special day are more than gift enough.
For the welcome party, wear whatever you feel comfortable in – flannel encouraged of course. We'd love everyone to dress their best for the ceremony and reception so are suggesting semi-formal/formal attire, but please wear comfortable shoes, as there are many stairs and the outdoor space is grassy and uneven. For those who care, most members of the bridal party will be wearing long, forest green dresses. Oh, and bring a swimsuit if you want to partake in the property's heated pools/hot tub!
September in Vermont is a bit of a mixed bag, but one you definitely want to pack with a coat. Expect highs in the upper-sixties/low-seventies during the day. Nights can get down to the low- to mid-forties. Or lower, but we're not thinking about that yet.
Both the Summit Lodge and North Star Hotel are walkable from the venue. Killington Mountain Lodge (Hilton) is down the road, and the resort has a shuttle that should bring you to and from the venue! Ride-sharing app opportunities can be scarce in the area, but we will have local options available on call. Look for information at the front desk of the Summit Lodge and other preferred hotels.
