Do I have to RSVP?

Answer

Yes! An RSVP is REQUIRED for everyone. It's essential in planning for ceremony seating and reception dinner. If we do not get an RSVP back by the date we've provided, it will be marked as a "no."

What is the order of events?

Answer

Our wedding is a year out and we've just sent save the dates but we want to ensure you have the most information we can provide. Please understand that our timeline is still in draft and so the times listed below are subject to change and we'll be sure to provide accurate details on your invitation! Ceremony: 10:40AM Cocktail Hour: 5:00PM Dinner & Toasts: 6:00PM Dancing: 7:00PM Grand Exit: 10:00PM

Question

What should I expect after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the immediate family of the couple will be taking pictures in the forest for around an hour. Guests are welcome to enjoy the afternoon in Downtown Westcliffe, or head back to Colorado Springs where we will all join you at Kinship landing at 5 o'clock in the evening.

Are the ceremony and reception taking place at the same location?

Answer

No! Our ceremony will take place at 68 Columbine Drive Westcliffe, Colorado 81252. Our reception will take place at Kinship Landing 415 S Nevada Colorado Springs, CO 80903. It's important to note our ceremony is approximately 2 hours from Colorado Springs.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please take into account that our ceremony is approximately 2 hours from Colorado Springs. The ceremony will begin punctually. Please arrive no later than 10:40AM

Where do I park for your ceremony?

Answer

There is VERY LIMITED PARKING at the ceremony site. So we HIGHLY recommend carpooling. The Comanche/Venable Trailhead offers off site parking about 15 minutes from the ceremony site and is a great place to meet up and carpool to the ceremony site. Additional parking is available at Bluff Park in downtown Westcliffe, 30 minutes from the ceremony site.

What if I'm late to the ceremony?

Answer

As Maggie always says, "If you're early you're on time, if you're on time you're late, and if you're late you pay!" If you arrive late, please do not interrupt. Either watch from a distance or remain in your car, because of the intimate ceremony site please DO NOT take a seat as to avoid interrupting the ceremony.

Where do I park for your reception?

Answer

Parking is limited on site at Kinship Landing. Street parking is available but also limited. We kindly encourage parking at the El Paso County Parking Structure 255 Sahwatch Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. We encourage parking at your hotel/airbnb and taking an Uber!

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be completely outdoors with very limited access to indoor facilities including restrooms. Please know rain, snow, or shine we will be outside. In the event of rain we will provide umbrellas. The reception will be both indoor/outdoor.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Colorado weather is VERY Unpredictable! Let's pray for perfect weather. However, please come prepared for temperatures ranging from a high of 80 degrees and a possible low of 50 degrees. Our ceremony will be completely outdoors with very limited access to indoors. In the event of rain we will provide umbrellas.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is formal. Formal wear for gentlemen may include a dark-colored suit with a jacket and tie. For women, floor length, midi, or knee length dresses. Please no jeans, sneakers, short dresses, or casual wear. Please avoid colors reserved for the bride- cream, ivory, and white. The ground is rocky so consider your shoe choices accordingly!

What kind of shoes should I wear?

Answer

Please keep in mind the ceremony will be outdoors in the forest with uneven rock and dirt terrain. Ladies, please take this into account when choosing your heels!

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We kindly ask that you do not have your phone or camera out during the ceremony. The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present as we say "I do." We've hired trusted professionals to capture this moment for us with both photography and videography and promise to share our photos and videos as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony, please take as many photos and videos as you'd like!

Can I bring my children?

Answer

While we love your littles, we really do! Our wedding is an adults-only event! We have huge extended families! Exceptions, if any, will be specifically listed on your RSVP's. If your child is not listed on your RSVP, please use this as a night to relax, socialize, and dance without your children!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We'd love to include everyone! But we are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Please respect our wishes as we want to keep our wedding an intimate celebration! Thank you so much for understanding!

What should I do with my children?

Answer

Take a deep breath... Grant and Maggie are committed to help you find local babysitters. We understand that it can be stressful to think about leaving your children in an unknown place. Maggie works at Children's Hospital of Colorado and has numerous connections to Nurses and EMT's with CPR, BLS, and additional life support trainings all of whom are overjoyed to keep your children safe on our wedding day for reasonable prices. Please reach out to Maggie for a list of highly acclaimed babysitters in Colorado Springs.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Dinner is on us! A limited bar will be available. Please bring a credit card or cash for additional options. Please drink responsibly and find a safe ride home.

Can I bring my own adult beverages?

Answer

Due to venue policy and regulations you are not allowed to bring other alcoholic beverages onto the premises.

Will there be dancing?

Answer

There will definitely be an amusing interpretation of that word!

Question

Since there will be alcohol, what do we do about driving?

Answer

We DO NOT want anyone drinking and driving! Overnight parking in the garage is permitted. Uber and Lifts are readily available in the Colorado Springs area.

What do I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be sorely missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "not attending" so we can plan accordingly! Thank you!

What if I don't RSVP in time?

Answer

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate you if you RSVP late. We will need to provide our vendors and venues with an exact guest count by a certain date. While we will send out reminders, as well as send out invitations early—please be sure to RSVP as soon as possible!
