If, five years ago, you would've asked either of us if we would ever go on a blind date, we both would have said HECK NO! The idea of meeting a complete stranger and spending the evening around them made us both cringe... but thankfully we did it anyway! A mutual friend of ours was getting married and thought that this would be a perfect opportunity to introduce two of his good friends. He setup a blind double date before the wedding with the two of us and his fiancé. At first, we were both very hesitant to go on this date and meet a stranger. However, once we met, we were so glad that we both said yes! We immediately clicked and found that we had so many common grounds. Right from the beginning, we knew that we had a unique bond that could turn into something special. Over the next few years, our love blossomed, as we were able to support each other through school and a semi-long distance relationship. The decision to get married was one of the easiest to make because we fit so well together. We are SO excited to finally be planning our big day and are so thankful for those who are able to celebrate with us!
Grant got down on one knee at the Grand Canyon, which is one of my favorite places to go. The Grand Canyon always reminded me of how astonishingly beautiful this earth is. Now, every time I think about it, I am reminded of something bigger and greater than the view… LOVE! He planned it out perfectly and had both of our families there for the big moment. Grant told me he wanted to get a picture of me looking out at the canyon so he could always be reminded of "what true beauty looks like". He said he got it, and I turned around and he was on one knee. He then preceded to give the sweetest outpouring of love via words. Truly the happiest day of my life! I’m smiling just writing about it!
While we are incredibly excited about our wedding plans, most of our future still remains up in the air. Lindsey will be working in St. Louis as a Physician Assistant, while Grant finishes medical school. Upon his graduation, our goal is for Grant to attend residency in St. Louis, while Lindsey continues working there. After residency, we aren't sure exactly what our plans are, but we know that God will continue to bless our journey and hopefully, one day, bless us with a healthy family.
