Question

Where are the Bride & Groom Staying?

Answer

Ixchel Beach Hotel - Bride and Groom will be staying here Wednesday May 21 - Saturday May 24th, prior to the wedding on May 26th. This hotel is child friendly but does not allow day passes or visitors. Privilege Aluxes - Bride & Groom will be staying here Saturday May 24th- Thursday May 29th, during the time of the wedding and after. This hotel is for ages 14+, children and infants are not permitted. This hotel is super private, other guests who are not staying here are not permitted. *We do have a room block - please use our code "2025_05_APRIL_GRANT"* It is very important to book your room as soon as possible before it potentially fills or has another wedding block. You must book before March 1, 2025 to use our block. Please pay close attention to the calendar when booking (Sometimes the calendar days run Monday-Sunday and not Sunday-Sunday like our US calendars, ect.) We understand that everyone has different preferences when it comes to accommodation, and we want you to feel comfortable during your stay. If you prefer to stay somewhere other than Privilege Aluxes, that is perfectly okay. We respect your choice and want you to tailor your vacation to your individual needs.
We would love to create an atmosphere where everyone can come together, mingle, bond, and have an incredible time. We believe that by having all our friends and family in the same place, sharing excitement and creating lifelong memories, the experience will be even more memorable and enjoyable for all. There is a possibility that if guests are scattered across the island, they might miss out on some of these special moments and connections.
Ultimately, we want you to have the freedom to choose what makes the most sense for you. We want everyone to have a fantastic time, whether they choose to stay at Privilege Aluxes or elsewhere. So please feel free to make a decision that aligns best.

Beach formal means no jeans, no shorts. There will be sand so stilettos and expensive leather shoes are not recommended. For the men, please wear a collared shirt and no shorts or sandals. For women's foot wear, wedges or a thick heel are preferred over stilettos.

Question

What type of electrical outlets do they have in Isla Mujeres?

Answer

Most electrical outlets on Isla are standard 2 prong outlets. If you will need to plug in a 3 prong appliance, please bring an adapter and a surge protector if you are bringing expensive equipment, like a laptop.

Question

Should I bring US Dollars or Pesos?

Answer

US dollars are widely accepted across the island, however to ensure that you get the best exchange rate, we recommend paying in pesos when possible. You can get your money converted at the bank before you leave home. Once you exit the ferry on the island, there are multiple ATMs directly across the street, as well as a cash exchange booth (there are many other ATMs throughout the island though). Be sure to notify your bank that you are traveling to Mexico so that you don't have any issues using your debit/credit cards while in Mexico.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Our wedding is an adult only occasion and we will only be accommodating the children in our wedding party.

Question

How do I get around?

Answer

Isla is a small island and super easy to get around. We recommend you taxi from the ferry and decide if you want a golf cart. The golf cart rental place is nearby and that information is on the "travel" tab. Please bring a second or spare drivers license if you have one.
