The wedding is proceeding as planned. In that regard, if you have any particular concerns or special requests, please call, e-mail or text us. We will make accommodations to the best of our ability so that everyone will feel comfortable, safe and have a wonderful time. Included in these safety measures are the following: At this time, the venue is requiring masks to be worn unless you are eating or drinking. Ceremony: If you prefer to watch the ceremony from the balcony above the ceremony room so that you are distanced from the ceremony, you are welcome to do so. Cocktail Hour: Appetizers will be served by the staff wearing masks and gloves and will take place in the lobby and extend outdoors to the patio area for those who feel more comfortable being outdoors. Reception: If you need to be seated with your guest at a table by yourself or feel most comfortable being seated with a particular group, (or at a table of less than 8), please let us know. Likewise, balcony seating and/or separate room seating can be arranged for the meal if you would feel more comfortable with that arrangement (alone or with another table or two if others are interested in that option). Otherwise, tables will be spaced six feet apart. The meal will be sit-down service and you can be assured that all staff will be wearing masks and gloves. Other precautions that are being taken for your safety include temperature checks at the door, an attendant in the restrooms cleaning regularly, and all handrails and elevators will be cleaned often throughout the evening, You will be asked to sign a waiver at the door upon entry to the wedding. There is also a possibility that the reception will be held outdoors. Nevertheless, the venue, times, etc. have not changed. We are thrilled to (finally) tie the knot and are looking forward to seeing you soon! Reminder: all responses are due by August 7th (extended RSVP due date).
**Please provide us with your final RSVP by July 31st. We are happy to discuss with you what precautions the venue is taking. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us, we'd love to touch base with you during this difficult time and evolving situation. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!** In light of the current situation with the pandemic, we had to make the difficult decision to move our wedding date to Saturday, August 22, 2020. The venue as well as the time have not changed. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. Most importantly, the health and welfare of our family and friends are our utmost concern and we don't want anyone to be exposed to risk. If you have already RSVP'd and plan to attend, you do not need to RSVP again. We will assume you will be attending, unless we hear otherwise. Please e-mail, call, or text if you need to change your response. If you could not make the prior date of April 25th because of prior commitments, work, etc., and feel you can now attend, we would love to have you. Please just e-mail, call, or text us. Kristina Snyder Grant Melia 3800 Jansen Ct. Fredericksburg, VA 22408
We met on the Pacific Coast, in Spanaway, WA. Now we are on the Atlantic Coast, in Fredericksburg, VA. We moved 2,828 miles and I would move 2,828 more, Just to be the one standing at your door. -Grant
The proposal (written by Kristina): After a pleasant visit by Pop Smith, a couples massage and my typical weekend nap, Grant told me he had a couple of surprises for me. I anxiously dressed without knowing what to expect. Grant took me outside of our home and said the first surprise was that Desi learned a new trick. Seemingly to prompt the command, Grant went down on one knee and said, "Desi, Sit... Propose". Desi put his paw on Grant's knee and with both of them looking towards me he said: Kristina, I have been planning this day for longer than I care to admit. Then we decided to move across the country, and I had to change my plans. I’ll admit I struggled trying to find the perfect place and time. We had just moved here and I couldn’t find anywhere that was special enough. But after getting your parents’ blessings, I realized I had the best place already. Right here. This is our home, and this is where I see our future. This is where I see us bringing home our first child; This is where I see our angst-filled teen demanding to live in the basement Just to get away from the rest of the family; This is where I see birthday parties with all the cousins and siblings. So it was perfect. And as for when I was going to do this, I couldn’t think of a better symbol of our relationship than this little boy right here. He has been there since the beginning, And even though we will long outlive him, I wanted to find a way that he would always be with us, until the very end. So I chose today, Desi’s Birthday, To ask you this: Kristina Snyder, will you marry me?
