This is a large summer-camp-like property with hiking trails, biking trails, meadows, campgrounds, and tons of lake access. Climb one of the lookout towers for rewarding views! (easiest to park near the hotel area and walk up Hillside Rd)
One of Joey's favorite places in Wisconsin is the Dells! There are so many different things to do: Mount Olympus and Noah's Ark water parks, boat tours up the river to see the "dells," Tommy Bartlett's water skiing show, Paul Bunyan's lumberjack breakfast (get the buttermilk donuts!), all packed in a charming and crazy little town!
Devil's Lake is a beautiful place for hiking, swimming, kayaking, and fishing! The entire lake is protected by state lands and no motors are allowed, so the water is calm and pristine. There are hiking trails wrapping around the lake that will reward you with beautiful views, many beaches to swim from, places to rock climb, and rentals for kayaks, paddle boards, paddle boats, and more.
On each Saturday morning in summer, there is a fantastic farmer's market that wraps around the entire Wisconsin capitol building. It's often called the nation's best! If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop for tasty cheeses, freshly grown fruits, delicious breads, and a beautiful place to stroll.
One of Ellie's favorite places in Milwaukee is the Lake Michigan coastline just north of the city. Atwater Park has steep and rewarding stairs that will bring you down to a lovely beach, and it's also a great starting point to take a stroll through a neighborhood full of beautiful, historic mansions.
Milwaukee is known for it's brewing! If you like beer, this is the best tour Milwaukee has to offer. You'll get lots of beer while learning about how it's made and can hangout on the patio along the river after the tour for tasty cheese curds and a bavarian pretzel.
