FAQs

From travel tips to dress code and mountain-high altitude, this page has everything you need to enjoy our Crested Butte wedding.
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Mountain Formal: An elevated look with alpine charm. Suits with a tie for men; long gowns or refined cocktail dresses for women. Please consider layered pieces (wraps or jackets) and appropriate footwear for uneven terrain. We recommend refraining from wearing stilettos as the ceremony and reception will be outdoors.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Crested Butte has a free town shuttle and is quite walkable. However, there are no Ubers or Taxis, so it might be helpful to rent a car.

Question

What's the altitude situation?

Answer

We're at ~9,000 feet! That means the views are breathtaking, and so is the thin air. Drink lots of water, wear sunscreen, and don't be surprised if one glass of champagne feels like two.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP on our wedding website by June 1st.

Question

Will transportation be provided on wedding day?

Answer

Yes! We will have shuttles running from the base of the mountain to the venue. Check back in for more information on this soon.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Your invitation and RSVP will specify exactly who is invited. If a guest name appears on the invitation or RSVP, they are included in your invitation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration. You can check out the Crested Butte Babysitters Co-Op here: https://www.cbbabysitters.com/.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

July in Crested Butte is gorgeous! Expect warm, sunny days in the 70s and cooler evenings in the 40s-50s. Afternoon showers are common, so a light jacket or wrap is a good idea.

Question

When should I book my hotel?

Answer

The sooner the better! July is peak season in Crested Butte, and accommodations fill up quickly. There are plenty of hotels, Air BnBs, and lodges nearby.
