We met by complete coincidence on Beale Street —both of us there for college festivities, neither of us expecting that one night would change everything. We met that January and stayed in touch, not knowing just how important those conversations we had would become. Shortly after, Tristyn asked me to be his date to his Pike formal in Las Vegas. I said yes! Unfortunately, as fate would have it, COVID-19 shut the world down, and with it, our plans. What we didn’t know then was that the world slowing down would become the very thing that brought us closer. With nowhere to go, we had nothing but time—and we spent it talking every single day, learning each other’s hearts, our differences, and the beauty of two completely different worlds—California dreaming and deep in the heart of Texas—coming together. By May 2020, everything changed. Tristyn flew me out to California for his 23rd birthday, and that trip marked the true beginning of our journey. I met his family, and soon after, his extended family in Las Vegas with all the Scarano’s. That same trip also became a moment I will never forget—I found out I had passed my NCLEX and officially became a Registered Nurse. It felt like everything in life was aligning exactly as it was meant to. We made our relationship "official" on August 11th, 2020. Then Tristyn took his very first trip to Texas in September of 2020 and met the Olson/Krull family. Looking back, we truly believe that without COVID-19, our story may have never unfolded the way it did. That unexpected pause in the world gave us the foundation we needed to build something real, even from miles apart. About a year and a half into our relationship, I took a leap of faith and left everything I had ever known to start a new life in California. It wasn’t easy, but I truly believe that it was the best decision I have ever made. We grew together in ways we never could have imagined, learning to appreciate not just love, but the simple blessing of being close to one another. In March of 2024, we moved in together—another milestone that only confirmed what we already knew: this was forever. Then came August 9, 2025—a day that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Tristyn planned the most incredible surprise and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Not only did he propose, but he secretly planned an entire engagement celebration with our closest family and friends, who traveled from all over the country to be there. It was overwhelming in the most beautiful way, and a moment we will cherish forever. Every single person invited to our wedding has played a meaningful role in our lives and our journey. We truly would not be here without the love and support of each and every one of you. We are so grateful—and we cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter together.
