This should be available for anyone bored Saturday morning. Shafer and I love farmer's markets! He says it fulfills my natural urge to "gather".
We love antiquing! Well, Grace loves antiquing. And Shafer loves seeing Grace happy. Also, sometimes you can find some really cool military artifacts. That's how you end up with a 'Nam war helmet.
Bass Pro. Shop for outdoor gear, fishing equipment, camping goods, or visit the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, also known as simply Wonders of Wildlife. It's a not-for-profit educational conservation-themed attraction at the Bass Pro. Shafer can get lost for hours here.
We love museums, and typically try to visit them when we're staying near some. Shafer loves the dinosaurs and Grace loves the rock exhibits. You can find us both at the Mummies.
Pythian Castle, supposedly haunted. They've got a ghost tour at 8pm on the 15th, or history tours at 11 am or 2 pm (Sunday only has a 2 pm).
The six permanent galleries include Native Crossroads at the Spring; Trains, Trolleys and Transportation; Pioneers and Founders at the Crossroads; Civil War in Springfield; Will Hickok and the American West; and Birthplace of Route 66.
Open 8-8, adult admission is $34. The final departure of the day is an hour before closing. Caves are cool.
We love Botanical Gardens! There's a few exhibits with their own admission, but it is all very beautiful.
