We both grew up in small towns, and Luray feels a little like home. Luray has never been home to either of our families, but we both have some past and present connections here. The Remer guys camp in the forest outside Luray each winter (brrr). Scott's time here has involved some chopping of wood, eating of pancakes, and joking with his brothers. Grace's Gramie and Poppa Leonard spent part of their honeymoon in Luray. In the 1960's, Grace's Uncle Tommy Lynch took a picture of her Grandfather at Stoneyman Mountain. The photo won a newspaper photo contest in Stanton, Virginia; you can check out the photo at the reception. We went out on a limb and came to Luray while searching for a venue. We hope you enjoy this rustic mountain spot as much as we do.
There is plenty of parking available. Parking for Luray UMC can be found at 26 N. Broad Street, one block downhill from the church. Parking for Stoneyman Valley Ranch is adjacent to the venue. Guests can be dropped off at the door, and parking attendants will be on hand to direct you.
No transportation is provided. We recommend carpooling with family or friends to the ceremony and reception if possible.
Yes! Stoneyman is newly built and there is air conditioning. We will stay cool inside.
