What we want the most right now is to see the culture of New Orleans survive the pandemic. So, we are raising money to support a local non-profit that is creating employment opportunities for the musicians, artists, and chefs that make New Orleans unique. When the city was hit hard early, our favorite Mardi Gras Krewe, the Krewe of Red Beans, immediately took action to support those suffering from the pandemic and the loss of their livelihoods. They started Feed the Front Line, raising money to purchase food from local restaurants and hire out-of-work musicians to deliver it to healthcare workers. After the surge at hospitals declined, Red Beans started Feed the Second Line, buying groceries and hiring musicians to deliver them to culturally important elders in the community. And when the parades were cancelled, they started Hire a Mardi Gras Artist to turn houses into stationary floats. We invite you to join us in supporting these efforts having a profound positive impact on our city.
