Grace and Levi met at Pittsburg State—Levi was a sophomore and the House Manager of his fraternity, Sigma Tau Gamma, and Grace was a freshman and a member of her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma. They came from different backgrounds and different hometowns, but they didn’t grow up too far apart—just 20 minutes from each other. When their paths crossed, things just clicked. Though both were from the Kansas City Metro, Levi grew up on the outskirts of town. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, showed leadership in any group he was part of, and had many aspirations—not just dreams, but dreams that turned into goals that he actively pursued, which really caught Grace’s attention. Not only was he incredibly intelligent, but he also had impeccable communication skills. And that’s not where his talents ended—he could fix anything: walls, faucets, cars... the list goes on. If something was broken, he was the fixer. Even better? He was a cute country boy—which, for Grace, these qualities checked all of her boxes and more! She couldn’t believe she had found herself a “Levi,” and to this day, she’s still pinching herself. Grace, on the other hand, grew up in Johnson County. But she told Levi not to let that fool him—she always said the Hannah Montana song “The Best of Both Worlds” described her perfectly. With three older brothers and a second-generation, family-owned beef ranch, Grace loved hunting and fishing too. But what she really enjoyed was blasting country music—volume limitless—while off-roading or mudding. But her love for hunting and fishing grew fonder as she spent more time with Levi. And if you know Levi, how could it not? After all, he’s now literally the face of Garmin’s Marine Freshwater Industry. But that’s just one side of Grace. She also loves shopping, getting her hair and nails done, and going out to lunch or dinner at cute spots around Johnson County with her friends. And anytime she gets the chance, she heads to Nashville—where her family lives and her heart feels right at home. She’s a big fan of country music, and nothing beats the energy of live bands playing up and down Broadway. When they met, Grace and Levi quickly realized how much they balanced each other. Grace loved to talk (a lot)—so much so that she majored in Communication. Levi thought it was hilarious that someone could talk, study talking, and still be so passionate about it—but he loved that about her. School wasn’t exactly Grace’s strong suit, but she worked hard, and after four long years, she finally earned her degree. She always says she couldn’t have done it without her best friend by her side—her soon-to-be husband, Levi Bruns. Not that she’s discrediting herself, but she truly means she couldn’t have done it without him. When they met, Levi didn’t just become her boyfriend—he also became her tutor! Countless hours of in-person tutoring sessions turned into long-distance FaceTime sessions after Levi graduated, and eventually, Grace graduated... with honors! Before graduating, Levi was also a student—double-majoring in Management and Marketing. After serving as his fraternity’s House Manager, he was elected President of Sigma Tau Gamma by his brothers. All the while, Levi was juggling his double majors, his presidency, tutoring Grace, he also tutored many of his fraternity brothers, and worked part-time during the school year—and full-time during summers—at Garmin. Imagine taking business calls in a fraternity house filled with rambunctious frat guys, blaring music, beers... and more beers. Yet he stayed focused, determined to finish every day out strong, and resisted the temptation to join the party—until he clocked out, of course! Through all of it—late-night study sessions, long-distance drives, and everything in between—they built a relationship grounded in trust, respect, and genuinely having fun together. This is just the beginning of their story, and they can’t wait for the next chapter... MARRIAGE!
