While it might not have been a popular way in the past, we met on Bumble and honestly might not have met otherwise. We have different interests and different hobbies, yet somehow when we met it all just clicked! Our first date was at Korean BBQ (typical) where JK was a little shy and we had to yell over the loud restaurant to hear anything, but decided to continue our date post dinner at a quiet bar. While the first date was nothing to write home about, the second date really set our relationship in motion and it was all smooth sailing from there.
On the day of the proposal, we were heading down to Temecula for a long weekend with Grace's parents thanks to Labor Day Weekend. Earlier that day, we had just video chatted with JK's parents for the first time and Grace had dressed up for the occasion to make sure to look her best. After a few more hours of work, we were headed down to Temecula, but JK asked to make a pitstop in San Pedro to pick up some bike gear (which is more normal that it sounds!). As we got closer, we ended up at a park with its gates closed - thinking nothing of it, Grace asked if he needed directions while JK just quietly said he took a wrong turn. After circling the area for a few minutes, JK asked "since we are here, want to go look at the Friendship Bell?". Fast forward, we get to the park under the Friendship Bell and JK is QUITE adamant to climb up the hill to see the bell while Grace is hesitant given she is still in a nice dress from meeting JK's parents that morning and FLATS! Even though Grace was hesitant, we very slowly walked up the hill to a quiet park with amazing views where JK made a memorable tear jerking speech and popped the question!
