Gracie's POV: I first met Greg during our freshman year on his initiation night. My friend Ally Watson and I were having a sleepover when a guy called her for a ride home. We got Whataburger, dropped off the others, and the three of us hung out at the top of Mount Sequoyah, listening to music. Greg and I bonded over the music video for "Do I Wanna Know" by the Arctic Monkeys. Over the next year and a half, we became good friends while he lived in the FIJI house. I loved hanging out with him at parties and campus events, often visiting his room for drinks. We flirted a little, but I never thought it would turn into more until one night when Greg offered to help with homework. I agreed, even though I didn’t need help, and after "helping" with two questions, we ended up just talking, which led to our first kiss. A couple of months later, we went to a Travis Scott concert when his mom called and asked, “Is that the girl you’ve been telling me about?” Shoutout to Beth for making him reveal how he felt about me! We had our first official date at Wasabi, where Greg claims I fell in love. I knew we’d balance each other well. I was a bit chilly on the patio, and without hesitation, Greg took off his shirt in front of everyone and gave it to me. I was mortified but couldn’t stop laughing—it’s now one of my favorite memories. From then on, we were inseparable, bonding over music and our shared love of travel. After 2.5 months of dating, we drove to Chicago for Lollapalooza 2017, exploring a new city and enjoying our first big music festival. Since then, we’ve seen over 250 artists, traveled across the US, gone overseas for the first time together, survived three years of long distance, and built our own little family with Barnie and Cash. I can't wait to marry my best friend. Greg's POV: Gracie and I first crossed paths during our freshman year at the University of Arkansas. We met through a group of friends, and from that very first night, we talked and laughed until the sun came up. What began as a casual friendship slowly grew into something more as we spent more time together. During our sophomore year, Gracie frequently visited my room in the FIJI house. I tried my best to impress her, though it took a while for my charm to work. Eventually, we began spending time together under the pretense of me "helping her with homework." It was during one of these sessions that I finally mustered the courage to kiss her. We were cautious about diving into a relationship too quickly, but I couldn’t keep my feelings in forever. On our way to a Travis Scott concert, I confessed that I was falling for her. To my surprise, she responded, “I am too.” My reaction? A stunned, “Really?” From that moment, everything fell into place. Our connection grew stronger, and I fell more for her each day. I think she realized I was serious when I took off my shirt on our first date at a sushi restaurant to give it to her because she was cold. It was my makeshift “jacket” that sealed the deal. Throughout junior and senior year, we spent nearly every day together, which is impressive considering she never got too tired of me. We traveled across the country to various music festivals, bonded over our shared love of music, and created unforgettable memories meeting new friends, dancing, and singing together. She became my favorite travel partner—a role she continues to excel in as we explore new countries together. When I moved to Chicago, we faced the challenge of long-distance, but Gracie’s commitment made it an incredible adventure. She visited often, and we made countless memories in the Windy City. Since moving back to Texas, we’ve settled into a cozy life with our two dogs, and it already feels like we have the perfect little family. Looking back from our friendship freshman year to our upcoming wedding, the journey has been incredible. It feels like we’re just getting started, and I couldn’t be more excited for the future we’re building together.
