It all started in 2018. At the time, Anthony was a seasoned and well-known country music singer privately battling an alcohol and drug addiction. On one fateful night, Anthony just finished a sold-out concert and went for a nightcap at a local drag bar. Unbeknownst to him, Grace was at the very same drag bar that night. At this time, Grace was a waitress and struggling songwriter. She would frequent the drag bar because they let her perform her songs. That very night, Anthony entered the bar just as Grace was performing one of her songs. After seeing her perform, he was captivated and it sparked love at first sight. Quickly, Anthony became both Grace's mentor and love interest. It wasn't long before they were both touring the world singing and writing songs together. A star was born the night they both met, and it led to a Grammy award for Grace. It nearly all came crashing down when Anthony's private battles with alcohol and drugs became public when he unexpectedly stumbled onto the stage during Grace's Grammy award acceptance speech. However, their love kept them together through these hard times and allowed Anthony to pursue a life of sobriety. Together, Anthony and Grace continue to share their deep love for each other and for music. Just kidding. They both swiped right on Hinge.

Anthony had always pictured proposing to her along a hike in her hometown of Boulder, CO. Anthony decided to put together a plan to propose to Grace at a gorgeous lookout on one of their favorite hikes, which was also the site of one of their first dates. In an effort to make it more special, Anthony hiked up to the lookout the evening before and set up photos and flowers as decorations. He kept his fingers crossed that the wind would not destroy his hard work overnight. The following morning, they awoke with plans to drive to Boulder for a hike. Anthony thought that he would have to somehow convince her to do that specific hike to make it work. As luck would have it, Grace suggested that very same hike herself, but she had no idea what was coming. Anthony and Grace started the hike and began approaching the lookout. Grace started to approach the lookout ahead of Anthony and noticed the photos and flowers that were still set up from the night before. When Grace saw the decorations, her initial response was, "Oh, how sad! It looks like it's a memorial. These people must have passed away recently....and, it looks like they were so young!" It was not until they got closer that she realized the photos were of themselves. She became very confused as to why there was memorial of themselves set up on the mountain. "Why is there a memorial for us? We are okay," she thought. She turned around to find Anthony in tears, trying to recite a speech that he had written beforehand. She said to him, "It's okay, Anthony! Don't cry! We're okay! We are still healthy." It still had not hit her as to what was going on. It was not until he got down on one knee and showed her the ring that she came to the realization that he was trying to propose. In a state of disbelief, she took a step back and tripped over a rock. Once she regained her balance, she ecstatically answered, "Yes!".
