I was a freshman in college when I met the man who would become my future husband. In my typical type-A fashion, I had made it to class early, too anxious to be any later. A few minutes after class had started, in walked a shaggy-haired guy with not an ounce of urgency on his face. My first thought was, "he's so cute" followed immediately with, "he's also late." Luckily for me, there was an empty seat at my table, which he ended up sitting in. I had not recently had much luck with the dating scene, so I planned to go about my business and focus on class. Unfortunately for those plans, Anders knew exactly what to say to make me laugh. He was cute, smart, and funny....and all my plans to focus on myself went out the window. From then on, he would walk me to and from class, telling me about different movies and superhero comics that I knew nothing about, but I was excited to listen because he was the one talking. Our first date was a super bowl party at his house, that I would later find out didn't actually exist until I had said yes to his invitation. Once I had said yes, he frantically texted his friends and they made the party happen. It was by far the best first date I had ever been on. Since then, I've been lucky enough to spend my time with the most kind-hearted, uniquely funny, wonderful man I have ever known. And now, I can't wait to marry by best friend. Cheers to being a Hansen!
