What to Wear!

The Wedding Website of Grace Elizabeth Roberson and Adeshpaul Singh Gill
We are so excited to share in the different cultures that are coming together this weekend! On this page, we have included examples of appropriate attire, websites to use to order anything you wish to wear, and some info on what to look for! For our Punjabi Sikh wedding, there are will be two opportunities to wear traditional attire, should you choose to do so! This will be on Thursday, October 22nd for the traditional Jaggo, and on Friday, October 23rd for the wedding ceremony at the Gurdwara (Sikh Temple). Please continue reading for all the information for what to wear! We want to strongly encourage all of our guests to show up in whatever way is the most comfortable and stress-free for them! You are welcome to wear whatever clothing would be considered "Sunday Best" that you have in your wardrobe already for all of the events we have planned for our wedding weekend.

For both the Thursday night Jaggo and the Friday morning Sikh Wedding, your attire is called a Salwar Kameez - Punjabi Suit. It will consist of a sleeved, long tunic (the kameez), long, loose pants (the salwar), and a long matching scarf (dupatta). The dupatta will serve as your head covering for the wedding inside of the temple on Friday morning.

For the Jaggo, the attire will be a Punjabi Kurta Pajama. This consists of a long tunic (the kurta), and matching pants (the pajama). For the Sikh wedding, most men typically wear a Kurta Pajama with a kurta vest or suit and tie - jacket optional. For this, you will also need a handkerchief to wear as a head covering. (Turbans will be provided for immediate family).
