For anyone new to Rochester, Genesee Brew House is a must see. We’re beer lovers, so as our family and friends, you probably are too! Come here for the best local brews and views of the Genesee River that Rochester was built upon. Don’t miss out of the rooftop, its Abe’s favorite spot in the city!
Visit one of our favorite post-kickball game spots with a wall full of different local taps in a goofy outdoor trailer park theme. Grab a pint of Genesee Ruby Red Kolsch, play some cornhole, and think of us!
Our favorite brewery in Rochester! As you might have noticed we like breweries. Strangebird has amazing beers but has made-from-scratch food that is delicious, we love the wings!
One of our local breweries that’s right down from our reception. Rohrbach has amazing beers, great atmosphere, and amazing food (pizza and wings are yummy). They are beside a distillery if you want something different as well.
Right down the street from our first apartment, Dorado is a cute little Mexican fusion restaurant with a killer atmosphere. Grab one of Grace’s favorite margaritas in the world, The Good The Bad and The Ugly and enjoy a plate of chorizo queso on one of Rochester’s best streets!
A tried and true for the Pendell Family! Looking for a delicious cocktail in a hip bar from a handsome bartender? Look no further! Ask for our favorite cocktail - Czechs & Balances
This place is huge it’s a 42,000-square-foot facility featuring an award-winning middle eastern menu, craft cocktail + whiskey bars, 34 bowling lanes, lounge areas, a variety of indoor and outdoor games. The pizza is amazing as well as the craft beer.
Another Park Ave favorite! Their chicken salad sandwich and tomato soup are to die for. They are so good, Barack Obama, stopped and hand lunch at our little cafe.
An award winning Restaurant close to our reception. They are dedicated to serving boldly seasonal cuisine, inspired cocktails, and a wine list that challenged norms. A must try: their burger, Grace and I love it! (Also Grace used to work here!)
Richard Reddington, the executive chef at Redd, has been nominated for the James Beard award multiple times. He has 7 Michelin stars from his restaurants in California and many other awards. What we are saying is, his food is amazing! Anything you try is amazing, we suggest sticking to the seasonal menu.
Smaller restaurant on one of our most popular streets, Park Ave. Dont let the size fool you because they bring handcrafted cocktails and delicious food. If you take a stroll down Park, it’s a must!
If your willing to take the drive to the Irondequoit bay you can experience a little slice of Florida. You can get a drink and lay back and relax on the beach.
If you are flying in to Buffalo instead of Rochester and renting a car (because we all know it’s almost always cheaper to fly into here) why not take the opportunity to check out Niagara Falls? Check off one of the great wonders of the world before the greatest wedding of the world! Only a quick drive from Buffalo Niagara airport, it’s definitely worth the trip. P.S. Don’t forget your passport because the Canada side is waaaaaay better!
The National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House in Rochester, New York was the home of the legendary American civil rights leader, and the site of her famous arrest for voting in 1872. This home was the headquarters of the National American Woman Suffrage Association when she was its president. This is also where she died in 1906 at age 86, following her “Failure is Impossible” speech in Baltimore.
Our local and amazing art gallery! With more than 12,000 objects has been called “the best balanced in the state outside of metropolitan New York City.” It is located in the heart of Rochester and with over 14 acres it’s a great place to spend half a day exploring.
