Kevin is a social butterfly with a tendency to fill empty nights with outings and friends. This is why he had been living with my close friends Kenny and Hilary Davis for 4 months and I had yet to meet him. Then we finally crossed paths at Hilary's graduation party from Vanderbilt grad school. We were 2 of 3 single people at the party and, as married friends love to do, everyone wanted to make sure we knew that as well. I believe it was my childhood best friend Caitlin who found out Kevin liked the cookies I brought to the party and used that as her "in" to call me out across the room and announce that this stranger liked my cookies. That conversation sparked some intrigue in both parties, but wouldn't lead to a date for several months...

Kevin VERY wisely and smoothly chose HUSK as the site for our first date - one of the best restaurants in Nashville (in my humble opinion) - and flew in town just in time to whisk me off to brunch. It has since become our Christmas Dinner date spot, where we celebrate anniversaries over lunch & eventually where we celebrated following our engagement!
