Is there a dress code?

Answer

We request that guests dress in semi formal to formal wedding attire and encourage you all to wear tropical colors to match our destination! Ladies- Any floor length, midi or cocktail dresses work for women. Opt for bright spring or summer colors, avoiding any shades of white, cream, or off-white. As for shoes, we recommend a block heel, sandals or wedge sandals. Gentlemen- As for men, wear either a suit or a nice button up t-shirt or long sleeve dress shirt. This can be paired with or without a tie and worn with a pair of nice slacks or khakis. Opt for more solid colors. What do you recommend we pack?

Answer

We recommend packing the essentials for a sunny, tropical getaway! Plus a few items that will make the wedding events and resort activities even more enjoyable: Resort Wear for Daytime: Swimsuits, cover-ups, sandals, and light, breathable clothing for lounging by the pool or exploring the beach. If you are planning on eating lunch in a restaurant you will need to have clothing or a longer cover up. Dressier Outfits for Evenings: The resort tends to be a bit dressier at night, so plan to bring nicer dinner attire. Think sundresses, jumpsuits, polos, button-downs, khaki shorts or light dress pants. Comfortable Shoes: For walking around the resort and any excursions. Sun Essentials: Sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, aloe, and anything else your skin will thank you for. Optional Extras: A light sweater for cooler nights, a beach bag, reusable water bottle, and any small items you may want for photos or getting ready. Should I still tip at the Resort?

Answer

While the resort is all-inclusive, tipping is always appreciated. Many staff members rely on tips as a meaningful part of their income, and a small gesture goes a long way toward recognizing their amazing service. Bringing small bills (USD) makes tipping the easiest, whether it’s bartenders, wait staff, or housekeeping! Special shoutout to Ramiro and Ramon our family friends who you will be seeing around as your bartenders during your stay!

How does all-inclusive work?

Answer

Your stay at the RIU Jalisco is all-inclusive, which means most of what you’ll enjoy during your trip is already covered in your nightly rate. What’s included: All meals at the resort’s restaurants (buffet and à la carte) Snacks throughout the day Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at bars and restaurants In-room minibar and fridge (restocked regularly) Resort activities, entertainment, and nightly shows Use of pools, beach chairs, and fitness center What’s not included: Spa services and treatments Off-site excursions and tours Motorized water sports How it works once you arrive: You’ll receive a wristband at check-in — this is your key to everything included No need to carry around your credit cards! Gratuities although are always appreciated for great service! All-inclusive makes it easy to relax, enjoy, and focus on celebrating without worrying about added costs.

If I don’t want to venture outside of the resort, what activities do they have?

Answer

There’s no shortage of things to do at the RIU Jalisco — whether you want to stay active or completely relax. Included resort activities typically include: Multiple swimming pools (including swim-up bars) Beach lounging with chairs and umbrellas Daily pool games and entertainment Fitness center and group fitness classes Kayaking, snorkeling, and other non-motorized water sport Beach volleyball Nightly shows and live entertainment The RIU Spa For ultimate relaxation, the resort’s spa offers a variety of services including: Massages Facials Body treatments Sauna and steam room access Spa services are available for an additional cost and can be booked directly at the resort or by downloading the RIU app onto your phone! There are also jet skis or parasailing located on the beach at an additional cost!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you kindly put your phones and cameras away during the ceremony as we want you all to be present with us in the moment. We have a professional photographer and videographer capturing the ceremony for us. Other than the ceremony, yes! Please feel free to take as many photos and videos as you like.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, transportation will be provided to and from Riu Jalisco and the ceremony location. Please meet in the lobby at 3:50 PM to board the shuttles heading to the wedding. Shuttles will depart promptly at 4:00 PM. Return shuttles: – One shuttle will leave the venue at 10:30 PM – Additional shuttles will depart when the wedding concludes at 11:45 PM

Is the wedding outside?

Answer

Yes, as the sun will be shining (hopefully) both the ceremony and reception will be held outside. Please make sure to dress appropriately, it will get chilly after sunset! Sunset is at approximately 6:40

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! There will be an open bar for cocktail hour, dinner, and the party! Drinks will be served from 5:30pm-11:30pm. We want you to have the best time, so the drinks are on us, but the hangover is on you!

Passports?

Answer

Don’t forget your passport!! Please double check to make sure your passport does not expire within 6 months of your departure date as you will not be permitted to travel during that time! Passports can take up to 3 months to arrive so plan accordingly!

When Should I RSVP by?

Answer

To help us with our planning, please RSVP to the event as soon as possible! However, the deadline is December 1st 2025. If we don't receive your RSVP by this date, we cannot make exceptions and will have to mark you as 'no'. We need to provide the venue and vendors with the total guest count within a timely manner, we hope you can understand.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We love and appreciate all of our guests, and while we would love to celebrate with everyone, we kindly ask that only those listed on the website attend. Due to venue capacity and our desire to keep the event intimate, we are unable to accommodate additional guests unless explicitly stated when you RSVP on our website. Thank you for understanding, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We love your little ones, but we kindly ask that our wedding be an adults-only celebration, unless your child is specifically listed when you RSVP. If their name is included, we would love to have them join us for our special day!

Where do I fly into?

Answer

You will fly directly into the Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), from there you will travel to the resort located in Nuevo Vallarta (a good halfway point between Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita)!

Can I stay outside the recommended resort?

Answer

We would not recommend staying outside the Riu Jalisco. We would love to spend time with all of our guests over the wedding weekend!

How Long Should I Stay?

Answer

We recommend staying from January 23rd-27th or January 24th-28th! Although you are welcome to enjoy the Mexico sun as long as you would like!
