I had the joy of meeting Gorpu at the University of Northern Iowa through the African Student Union, and met Deshay shortly after that and witnessing your love story has been truly inspiring. Gorpu is my sister, and we are connected by real blood. I met Deshay in December 2018 for Christmas. My first thought when I met Deshay was, "ley people son can talk too ooo!" From that first conversation, he has been a significant part of our lives, and now he is about to marry my big sister. I must say, I have a great brother-in-law, and the amount of care he has for my sister is incredible. I have made it my responsibility to show that same care to him. Deshay, you are very much appreciated by me and on behalf of the rest of the Makors. I can confidently say, "We appreciate you! We support you! And we will also fight battles for you." Now, you two are an amazing couple, and even a stranger from a mile away can see the genuine love you have for each other. I have many wishes for this beautiful union, but the most important thing I want to say is this: build the foundation of this covenant with God. Remember to allow God to be your advisor, teacher, protector, defender, and above all, your Father.
