The love story of these two began briefly back in 2011, when Hailey sat behind Dominic in British Literature class at Westminster High School. She was instantly attracted to his mushroom style haircut, a very popular haircut at the time, but one that only he could pull off. As the Winter Formal Dance approached, Dominic did not have a date while Hailey already had one locked in. Fortunately for Dominic, Hailey’s date was unable to attend the dance and had asked him to fill that role in his absence. How could he refuse taking such a beautiful, blonde hair, blue eyed girl to the dance? Needless to say, they immediately hit it off at the dance, which was not what her original date was hoping for. They continued their relationship for a month or so until Dominic, in true Dominic fashion, made a poor decision (a common reoccurring theme) and decided to pursue someone else. They both moved on, graduated college, found great careers, and of course, failed in relationships. Fate brought them back together briefly in 2020 at Lee’s Pint and Shell in Baltimore City, where they were both residing at the time. Dominic was upstairs with his friends and saw on Snapchat that Hailey was right below him. Having not have talked in awhile and remembering how pretty she was, he messaged her and asked her to come to upstairs to meet him. Of course, she denied his invitation and told him to come downstairs instead. With the help of some liquid courage in the form of Rumpleminze, Dominic and his buddies took a shot and made their way downstairs. The night ended with Hailey ultimately denying Dominic’s invitation to come over to his house. Reluctantly, they both stayed in constant communication.

Fast forward about six months later and another failed relationship for Dominic, these two began having feelings for each other. One late and rainy night in Baltimore City, Hailey drove over a pothole, resulting in a flat tire. Hailey, having what seemed like a great idea, called Dominic, a police officer, for help. Him and his friend immediately left the bar to go help his “damsel in distress”. Dominic began changing her tire in the pitch black, pouring down rain, while wearing his new button up shirt. After MANY ATTEMPTS, he was finally able to get the spare tire on. With Hailey in the passenger seat, he started driving, only to hear an awful shriek. Dominic, pretending he knew the slightest bit about cars, blamed it on the axel and convinced Hailey to stay at his house and call a tow truck in the morning. Morning came and they called the tow truck and made their way back to her car. Before the tow truck arrived, Hailey decided to FaceTime her step-father, Brian, to see what he thought. After about 10 seconds, Brian said to Hailey, “Hail, I’m really sorry, but I think the tire is on backwards…” Hearing Brian and looking at the tire, Dominic immediately yelled for Hailey to hang up the phone, knowing that Brian was right. How embarrassing?! Luckily, they were able to cancel the tow truck before it arrived and together, they were able to successfully change her tire... correctly. I don’t think Hailey, or anyone, will ever let Dominic live this one down. If you ever hear him being referred to as, “Mr. Tire”, now you know why!

A few weeks after the tire situation, Hailey and Dominic continued to talk and their feelings for each other grew stronger. Hailey mustered up the courage to send a text message asking if they were ever going to have an official title. Dominic, making another poor decision, told her that he was not looking for another relationship at the time. Hailey responded saying that she could no longer talk to him, as she did not want to get too attached. Hailey wouldn’t budge and refused to respond to Dominic’s numerous attempts at communication. Her refusal to speak to Dominic made him realize that this was not what he wanted at all. He asked for one more chance and promised to give her exactly what she wanted. As soon as he “accepted her terms and conditions”, there was no looking back & these two fell in love almost immediately. In early October 2020, before they had officially become boyfriend and girlfriend, they were laying in bed, when Hailey said that she had something to say. Knowing exactly what was coming, Dominic played stupid and pretended that he had no idea what she planned to say. With her heart literally pounding out of her chest, she said those three words that when said for the first time, immediately give Dominic the chills. Let it be known that Hailey was the FIRST to say, “I love you”, to which Dominic, with a big smile on his face, immediately responded with, “I love you too”.

On October 9, 2020, after a late night at City Limits Sports Bar in Locust Point, Dominic finally asked Hailey to be his girlfriend. In a shocking twist that he was not prepared for, Hailey instantly said, “No”, and told him that he had to ask her the next morning when he was sober. On October 10, 2020, Hailey woke up and said “is there something you wanted to ask me?” Dominic, giving her a taste of her own medicine, pretended like the previous night had never happened, said, “nope, not that I can remember?” He eventually gave in and asked her and she finally said yes.

After a few months of dating, Dominic realized he could not screw this one up for a third time. He knew that Hailey was the one he wanted to marry. With the help of their family and friends (and a couple months of planning), Dominic was able to surprise Hailey in her favorite place in the world, Reedville, Virginia on her grandparents' property on the water. On November 27, 2021, Dominic dropped to a knee and asked Hailey to marry him. After she said "yes", she was surprised by both families present in Reedville, Virginia to greet her and celebrate the two of them.
