Question

What can I expect at a Jewish wedding?

Answer

Expect a joyful, lively Jewish wedding with unique traditions like the groom breaking a glass at the end of the ceremony, a mixture of both English and Hebrew blessings/readings, and the bride and groom being lifted in chairs during the energetic Hora dance, all leading to great food, dancing, and a festive atmosphere where participation is encouraged. The program handed out by our ushers will have further information about pieces of the ceremony that will help in guiding you throughout our ceremony. What's the Hora? The Hora is an energetic circle dance at Jewish weddings where guests hold hands and dance to lively music, often Hava Nagila, while lifting the bride and groom (and sometimes parents) on chairs in the center, symbolizing community support for the new union. Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Dress Code: Black Tie Optional (Color Encouraged!) Get dressed up with us! Think formal, elegant evening wear—but with extra color. Wear your favorite tux, dark suit, evening gown, or formal cocktail dress. We love bright colors and rich tones, so feel free to skip the traditional black-and-white and wear your brightest, boldest formal attire.
