It's beautiful - probably a little early for leaves to be changing, but worth a visit at any time of year, even if you just drive through up Trail Ridge Road. Only about 30-40 minutes past Lyons into the mountains to get into the park.
Not too far from Lyons, pretty cool shops and restaurants, and a beautiful view of the Flatirons.
If you're a big fan of The Shining, you might be interested in checking out The Stanley Hotel - you can take a tour of the hotel, which includes plenty of ghost stories.
If you're looking to climb a mountain while you're in Colorado, this is one option. Or you can just go look at it :)
Tyler and his friends are very into this spot, so if you're staying in or near Longmont, and you're into cheese, it might be worth a visit!

Always a fun visit, you can check out Union Station, the Capitol building, and lots of cool stores and restaurants, with free shuttles running up and down the entire length of the street.
Estes is a cute little tourist-y mountain town if you're looking for that experience!
If you're looking for nice, pretty drive that's not too far into the mountains, definitely recommend Big Thompson Canyon! Be sure to stop at Colorado Cherry Company on your way.

Just humbly submitting this as our favorite city in Colorado. You can explore the CSU campus, visit Horsetooth Reservoir, and grab dinner before bar hopping through Old Town.
