This is one of our favorite spots! Great trails for walking/easy hiking, beautiful grounds to tour, and fun mining history! Like a grade school field trip...only instead of a sack lunch we recommend heading to downtown for some local and delicious food/drink (check out Grass Valley Brewing for both!).
Food, shops, fun buildings, tasting rooms, and an art deco movie theatre, even with COVID limitations this is a great spot to be! If you arrive on Thursday, check out Thursday Night Farmer's Market for some local produce, foods, and crafts...or just EXCEPTIONAL people watching.
Lovely spot for a morning or afternoon walk through the pine trees. Close to all the delights of Downtown. Nevada City but still feels like a woodland adventure.
One part Victorian mining town, one part gentrified country living, one part hippie sanctuary, Nevada City really has it all. We recommend Three Forks Brewing for a quick bite and local draft, Treats for a cool ice cream, Ike's for a fun (and delicious) meal, and taking your time winding through the streets of gorgeously restored Victorians and quaint miner's cabins.
