Chatuchak Market is also known as the J.J. Market. It is a MUST if you are looking for... anything-- niknaks, souvenir, home decors, food, clothes, jewelry, knock offs, etc. Korn goes here at least once every time she's in Thailand. There is a large outdoors section and a new indoor section. We highly recommends you grabbing the market's map as soon as you get there. This place is BIG and full of locals. Wear your comfy shoes and breathable cloths. Watch out for pick pockets and don't forget to bargain ;) You can easily spend 4 hours there. The best way to get to J.J. Market is the MRT (subway) blue line at Kamphaeng Phet Station, which is a shorter walk to the station than the Chatuchak Park station.
The Platinum Fashion mall is a 4 level, 2 buildings full of small vendors. You have probably not seen anything like this place. Platinum mall is the largest non-designer malls that is filled with beautiful clothes of very talented Thai clothes designer-- off the rack. You can find anything from fun jewelry, jeans, knock offs, wigs to formal dresses. Recommended minimum time spent is 3 hours. Bringing a rolling suitcase to store your purchases is a smart idea! Cash or cards are accepted, but don't forget to bargain! The best way to get to Platinum Fashion mall is though a BTS (sky train) dark green line at Ratchadamri station. Once reached the Ratchadamri station, be sure to use exit 3- from there is a short walk.
When you find yourself hungry and you’re not sure where to go, look and see if you’re close to one of Bangkok’s upsale mall, like Icon Siam, Siam Paragon, Central or Central World. The mall’s food court is clean and tasty. One of Korn’s family favorites food court is at the Siam Paragon Mall. The food court is full of street food, and while you’re there. The food court is located in the ground floor. One of the coolest thing about Siam Paragon’s food court is its upscale grocery store in the back that carried the finest product from all over the world from the rarest fruits and meats to its aisle full of instant ramen noodles. Siam Paragon is only 2 BTS station from Athenee hotel. The BTS train (Sky Train) @ Siam station will drop you off on a sky walk right in front of Siam Paragon.
ICONSIAM is the newest and the most luxurious mall in Bangkok. It is certainly the nicest mall Adam has ever been to. The mall is filled with designer shops (and the 1st Apple Store in Thailand), but locals frequently visit Icon Siam for its extravagant food court (it’s literally a size of Walmart). This mall allows locals and tourists to experience a wide range of traditional Thai food from different regions in a comfortable and clean environment. The food court is designed to represent different regions of Thailand and is absolutely jaw dropping. Trust me, this place will be worth your while. Korn’s favorite way to get to Icon Siam is via BTS (sky train) at Chareon Nakhon station. Sneak peak: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp9Zy-K0Yao

If you are seeking one of a kind custom suits, jackets, etc., give Raja’s Fashion a visit. The Raja’s has been family friends with the Cohen for generations. Their shop is located on Sukumvit, Bangkok, and can easily be reached by the BTS train (Nana Station). *Beware* there are many Raja’s copy cat stores right next to theirs so be sure to go to the right one. You can reach Mr. Bobby at +66 81-846-8112 and be sure to tell them you’re with the Cohens. ***Appointment should be made as far in advance as possible, plan to be at the shop for an initial measuring and fabric/style selections, second fitting, and final fitting. Finished product can be sent to your hotel or shipped. Highly recommend experience.
Often visited during the day but LIT UP at night, Yaowarat road is popular for dim sum, oyster omelets, flat noodles in a pepper broth, and lots of fresh seafood. There are also many exotic fruits on offer, as well as homemade ice cream (we love coconut, but for something truly Thai, go for durian). Traffic is very congested in this area, so we recommend taking the MRT to Wat Mangkon MRT Station and walk for about 5 minutes to Yaowarat Road.
Yes, this could be you! An organized 9 holes wedding scramble is TBD.
Enjoy a spa time after a long day of shopping! Thai massage is highly recommended. Contact your hotel for more information.
A 10 minute walk from the Athenee hotel or a short cab ride, you will find Adam's favorite fried chicken in Bangkok! His favorite order? Polo chicken (Gai Tod) with fried garlic + shallot, papaya salad (Som Tum), and sticky rice. Simple and superb!
If you have a free 20 minute, pop into a reflexology shop and get you a food massage. "It is da best in da world" - Andrew Cohen.
