If you are still in town, consider attending the Romeo vintage car parade on Sunday at 7pm! The parade goes right by our house. We invite you to bring a lawn chair and sit in the yard. We will be riding in our 1935 Ford.
If you are looking for somewhere relaxing to sip wine or try wood-fired pizzas, this is the place to go! We love their wine flights and enjoy going earlier in the day (they do run out of pizza). They are open 12-7 Saturdays and Sundays. They even do goat yoga.
Exploring the gardens is FREE! They are quite expansive and very picturesque. It feels like you are in another country and it is not crowded. The conservatory is free on Mondays and Thursdays. Tours of the house are $20 Thursday-Sunday.
Spend a day 30 min east of Romeo! Port Huron offers a neat coffee/sandwich shop with live music on a balcony - The Raven. There's a LARGE antique shop and a cute downtown along the water. St. Clair, Michigan, just south, offers a boardwalk along the water and the MIGardener seed store!
Consider picking peaches, raspberries, apples or trying one of Kathryn and Andrew's favorite drinks at Blakes- Mule de Pomme. There are 4 locations, but the Almont is the quieter and more preferred location for Kathryn and Andrew. There is often live music (calendar on their Facebook). The Armada location has all of the bells and whistles, but it is very busy!
Downtown Romeo and the surrounding neighborhoods offer exquisite Victorian homes and manicured flower beds all within walking distance from our house! We implore you to take a stroll down Church St. or venture into the downtown antique store to make the most of the small-town atmosphere. (Don't worry, the locals won't bite!) Check out the events that are going on all weekend for Peach Fest.
Cross off one of the Great Lakes by visiting Lake Huron in the quaint and historic town of Lexington, Michigan. This is 1 hour and 30 min away, but it includes sandy beaches, sand dunes, lighthouses, historic buildings, wineries/breweries, a theatre and the 10mile Port Sanilac trail along Lake Huron.
