Bride
Travel nurse by night. 14th century French woman (aka Lucette) on SCA weekends. All around geek/nerd 24/7...& somehow William still wants to marry me!
Groom
Welder. Georgia National Guard soldier. LARP enthusiast. Teller of dad jokes...& somehow Danielle suffers through them all.
Matron of Honor
We met in 7th grade in Mr. Carr's Current Events class when he had everyone sit in alphabetical order. Jackie & I hit it off & made that class & the rest of high school very enjoyable. Though our lives went different paths after high school, Jackie & I have stayed in touch & usually we reconnect over a great meal in (what I consider) my hometown of Peachtree City. Jackie is married to her husband Chris & they welcomed a baby boy earlier in 2021.
Bridesmaid
Liz (aka Mara) & I first met when I attended 1 of her calligraphy classes at an SCA event early in my SCA life (about 2017). Somehow she saw potential in me & asked me to be her student (Mara is a Laurel- someone really good at a particular art or science- in the SCA) at the 45th anniversary of the Kingdom of Meridies event a few years back. Somehow she hasn’t gotten tired of me yet & keeps me around (probably for the snacks I bring to the archery range & the free manual labor ;) ). Liz is married to Ben & lives with Tierza & their 2 kiddos William & Alan.
Bridesmaid
Stephanie & I met through her husband Tim back in late 2016. We connected as we’re both nurses (Steph is a nurse practitioner in Middle GA) & we have spent many an SCA event enjoying evenings of alcohol & camaraderie (ask her what a Puerto Rican hooker is). Steph (aka Ysmay) is currently the Queen of Meridies when she isn’t doing her day job, is married to her husband Tim & has the sweetest kiddos in Mya, Theo & David.
Bridesmaid
What is there to say about Madeleine? We’ve been by each other’s side since she was born (31 years ago)...or more likely at each other’s throats (especially when we lived together for a year of college down in Savannah before she went to live in PA). Madeleine is married to my favorite (& only) brother-in-law Tim & they currently have a menagerie of dogs & cats. They also “adopt” all the wildlife from crows to foxes that make the yard at their house home.
Best Man
Apartment maintenance tech, father of 2, and devoted husband. This family man first met me in the 04-05 school year when he asked to sit with me on the school bus. It was the start of a great friendship that has lasted the better part of 2 decades. Though he has moved up and down the eastern seaboard several times we still keep in touch and get together when life allows.
Groomswoman
Armed with a degree in Psychology she lives like there is no tomorrow! Knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, bracelets and lanyards, Master of the art of Unbinding (seriously she can untie just about anything) all these are arts she excels in. Her passion for the outdoors has found her chasing waterfalls and kayaking (hopefully not at the same time). Met in the summer of 2001 on my first day of summer camp. Kris and Michael were sitting in the corner as far from the other kids listening to slim shady and playing Pokémon. Right away I knew I had found something special. For that summer and the next the 3 of us were inseparable. It was a wonderful time in my life and even though we lost touch for a few years I pulled her back to me and we have been the closest of friends ever since.
Groomsman
Tall, Dark, and Handsome. One of the smartest guys I know. A hell raiser always up to some hijinks when he isn’t focusing on being an incredibly responsible adult. From advanced mathematics, to programming and crafting, his talents never cease to amaze me. He has had my back and saved my skin more times than I can count on the battlefield (in LARP games). We met first while I visited his cousin Alex when he was 12, and the spunky punk was ready to fight anyone after the lessons Alex had given him. We wouldn't meet again till he was 16 and I gave him a ride to work on my scooter. We have spent more and more time together as we both dove headlong into the communities of LARP and have spent countless hours bent over sewing machines at our friend’s house working on costumes and projects.
Groomsman
Manager at Georgia’s best DQ, holding a degree in Accounting, and Connoisseur of Beers from around the world. I met this man shortly after highschool while living in Michael’s basement. We hit it off right away and spent many a long night playing Halo and trying to “slay the Kraken.” (1.75L bottle of that rum was quite the challenge!) I know I can always go to him to get an honest opinion and have a fun time. We have been great friends for over a decade and I look forward to many more!
Mother of the Bride
Best mom in the world...& I’m not just saying that cause she helped me plan this entire thing. Former kitchen designer that still loves to watch HGTV & meddle (ugh I mean be involved) in her adult children’s lives.
Father of the Bride
Flight dispatcher who comes home from work just to look/talk online about all things planes (really if you want to keep him talking, just make a comment about a plane). His love of learning is probably where Danielle got hers from.
Mother of the Groom
A beautiful woman, my mother possesses a keen intellect, wild creativity, and a deep love. She is always able to make magic happen with limited resources be it to fix a recipe, alter a costume, or patch up a plothole in a story. She takes great pride in her children and in those closest to them. She loves cooking, prepping, learning, teaching, and a good romance. She worked nearly 20 years as a forms compliance specialist and 25 years as a Sunday school teacher. Her generous heart has guided her through all the things in life great and small, good and bad, and has always remained untarnished. She is my mother and I quite literally wouldn't be here without her.
Father of the Groom
The mega me! The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree here... he has taught me many things about the mind, science, and computers. Always ready with a quip on his lips of his musings on life, the universe and everything, a man of a humble heart and always forgiving. His passions vary but are always laser focused. There is always a method to the madness. He enjoys reading, learning, & researching without much discretion in topics. He is my Father and hero, without him I literally wouldn't be here.
